And the shirts! Some got these collars, stiff as a board. Reminds me of my old man’s church shirts. Then there’s the ones with no collar at all, just a plain old shirt. And don’t even get me started on the golf shoes! They got these little spikes on the bottom, like they’re gonna go climbin’ a mountain instead of walkin’ on grass.

I seen some fellas wearin’ it down at the diner the other day. They were all talkin’ about their golf game and how these clothes made ’em feel like a million bucks.

They say the shorts gotta be a certain length. Not too short, not too long. Just above the knee, they say. Like Goldilocks and the porridge! And the skirts and dresses, they gotta be a certain length too. Not too revealing, you know. Gotta keep things decent on the golf course, I guess.

This motive golf apparel, it ain’t cheap, I can tell you that. Costs more than a week’s worth of groceries! But I guess if you got the money to play golf, you got the money to buy the clothes. It’s all part of the game, they say. Gotta look the part if you wanna play the part.
Me, I’ll stick to my old overalls and comfy shoes. I don’t need no fancy motive golf apparel to enjoy the sunshine. But if you’re headed out to the golf course, I guess you better get yourself some of these clothes. Don’t want to be the odd one out, now do ya?
