Well, lemme tell you, that NBA 2K24, that game my grandson plays all the time, it’s gonna be shut down one of these days. Just like takin’ the ol’ tractor out back and leavin’ it there to rust. They say them NBA 2K24 servers, that’s like the heart of that game, gonna stop beatin’.
I heard tell it’s gonna happen sometime, maybe next year. Like when we put up the preserves in the fall, you know they ain’t gonna last forever. Same with this game, I reckon. Ain’t no official NBA 2K24 servers shut down date yet, but it’s comin’, just like winter after a long, hot summer.
Now, they got these things called “Play Now” and “MyNBA” and something called “The W” and somethin’ else “MyWNBA.” My grandson, he tried to explain it to me once. Said it’s like havin’ different fields on the farm. You got your cornfield, your wheat field, all separate. Those will still be there, I guess, like them old barns we don’t use no more but still standin’.

But all that other fancy stuff, like playin’ with folks from all over, that’s gonna be gone. Like when the telephone lines go down in a storm, you can’t talk to nobody far away. They call it multiplayer and Online Leagues and some such. That requires a connection to the 2K servers, ya see? That’s like the wires that connect our house to the other houses in the town.
They had some trouble with them NBA 2K24 servers back on November 15th, 2023. That’s like when the power goes out ’cause a tree falls on the line. Everything just stops. My grandson was mighty upset, I tell ya. And then, when that game first came out, whoo-wee, them servers crashed faster than a chicken runnin’ from a fox! They said it happened right at the NBA 2k24 launch day. He was all excited, like a kid on Christmas mornin’ and bam! Nothing.
They say the MyTeam mode was really messed up then. It’s like one of them crops just ain’t doin’ well. Maybe the soil ain’t right, or the weather’s been bad. Whatever it is, it just ain’t thrivin’.
They got this other game, NBA 2K23. I heard them sayin’ its servers gonna be shut down on December 31st, 2024. That’s like sayin’ that old milk cow ain’t gonna give milk no more after that date. Just dryin’ up. So, this NBA 2K24, it’s probably gonna be the same, maybe a year after that. They do it every year or every other year, like cleanin’ out the chicken coop.
They also had issues on Tuesday, February 13th, 2024, around 11 am CET, or 10 am GMT, or 5 am ET, or 2 am PT, whatever that means, they was having some trouble. That’s like those times you get a flat tire on the road. You ain’t going nowhere until you get that fixed, or call someone who know how to do it.
My grandson, he’s always checkin’ on them NBA 2K24 servers. He’s like a farmer checkin’ the weather, always worried if it’s gonna rain or if the sun’s gonna shine. He wants to know if they’re up and runnin’ or if they’re down for the count. He types some words and looks at the screen, say that is the way to check NBA 2k24 server status. He always asks if NBA 2k24 Server is Online or Offline. Or he just asks, “How to Check if NBA 2k24 is Down or Not.” It is like a farmer asks the weather forecast.
It’s a shame, really. All that time and effort, and then poof, it’s gone. But that’s the way of things, I suppose. Nothin’ lasts forever, not even them fancy video games. Just like us, they get old and tired, and then they’re just a memory.

And when it does, it’ll be like sayin’ goodbye to an old friend. You’ll remember the good times, but you know they ain’t comin’ back. That’s just the way it is, I reckon. Just like life.
