Alright, let’s jaw about them FSU fellas in the NBA, you know, the basketball stars. Folks keep askin’ me, “Who from FSU made it big?” Well, hold your horses, I’m gonna tell ya.
FSU, that’s Florida State University, for them city slickers who don’t know. They got this team, the Seminoles, real good at basketball. These boys run fast and throw that ball high, just like how we used to chase chickens back in the day, only with a ball, ya see?
Now, a bunch of these Seminoles, they got good enough to go play in the NBA. NBA, that’s the big leagues, the real fancy stuff, where them fellas make more money than a farmer sees in a lifetime, I reckon.
So, how many FSU boys made it to the NBA? Well, they tell me, more than 50! Can ya believe it? 51 to be exact. That’s a whole lotta fellas, like a whole village worth of basketball players! And some of ’em, 16 of ’em, were picked right at the start, in the first round. That’s like gettin’ the best piece of pie at the church picnic, everybody wants ya.
- First round picks: 16 (6 in the last 10 years) – These are the top dogs, the ones everyone wants.
- Second round picks: 13 – Still good players, just had to wait a bit longer to get picked.
- Top 3 picks: 0 – Ain’t had one of them super-duper stars yet, but who knows, maybe next year.
Them fellas from FSU, they play all sorts of positions. Some are tall and skinny, some are strong and quick. They run up and down that court, dribblin’ and passin’ and shootin’. It’s a real sight to see, even if I don’t always understand all them fancy rules.
And it ain’t just the NBA, ya know. Some of these FSU boys, they go play in other leagues too. There’s somethin’ called the G-League, kinda like the minor leagues in baseball, I guess. And then there’s leagues overseas, in other countries. Them boys are all over the place, playin’ basketball and makin’ a livin’.
Now, they got this other team in Florida, the Gators, from the University of Florida. They also send players to the NBA, but not as many as FSU. They only got 38 players drafted, and only one first-rounder in the last 10 years. See? FSU is better, I told ya!
You wanna know who these FSU players are? Well, there’s a whole bunch of ’em. I can’t remember all their names, my memory ain’t what it used to be. But you can look ’em up online, they got all these fancy websites now that tell you everything. They got scores and stats, whatever them stats are. They even got player profiles, like little stories about each player.
And talkin’ about tall fellas, did ya hear about that giant kid from Florida, the one who’s 7 foot 9? Seven foot nine! He’s taller than my barn! They say he might be the tallest college basketball player ever. But he’s not playin’ yet, they’re gonna make him wait a year. Probably needs to learn how to duck under doorways, I reckon.
So, there ya have it, a little somethin’ about them FSU players in the NBA. They’re good boys, workin’ hard and playin’ their hearts out. They make us proud, even if we don’t always understand what’s goin’ on with that bouncy ball. It’s a good thing, them boys doin’ well. Makes you feel good, you know? Like seein’ a good crop come in after a long summer. That’s the kinda feelin’ I get watchin’ them FSU fellas play.
And if you wanna know more, just go look it up online. They got all the information you could ever want, and then some. Just don’t get lost in all them numbers and fancy words. Just remember, FSU is the place to be for basketball, and them Seminoles are somethin’ special.
