Okay, here’s my story about getting involved with Morton West Soccer:
So, I recently got into this whole Morton West Soccer thing. I’d heard about it here and there, figured it was just another high school sports thing, but boy, was I wrong. It’s way more than that. I got curious after seeing a poster about their 2022 schedule – it was made by some kid named Bryce Elsesser, and it looked pretty slick. That got me thinking, “Maybe there’s more to this soccer thing than I thought.”
I started digging around, you know, just casually checking things out online. Turns out, Morton High Schools have a legit sports program. They’re all about making sports a big part of the whole school experience. It’s not just about kicking a ball around; it’s about, like, personal growth and all that jazz.
- I stumbled upon this team, Morton West FC, that plays in some local Sunday league.
- Then I found out they were part of the Carlisle City Sunday League Division 2.
- They even have some connection to the Adobe Women’s FA Cup.
I was really interested, it seems this soccer team is a big part of school life, the community, even! I realized it’s not just a school thing—it’s a whole community vibe.
I learned that Morton West is part of this bigger school district, J. Sterling Morton High School District 201. It’s the big boss of schools in places like Berwyn, Cicero, and Lyons. Sounds important, right? Anyway, what really caught my eye were the actual games.
I started looking up their scores and schedules, and it became a bit of an obsession. Every week, I’d check out how they did, who they played against, and all that stuff. I mean I learned about Greenock Morton FC and checked out the standings and rankings.
It’s kind of amazing how much you can get into something once you start paying attention. It went from “Oh, that’s a nice poster” to “I need to know every detail about this team’s season.”
I haven’t become, like, their number one fan or anything (yet), but I’m definitely way more interested than I thought I’d be. It’s cool to see how much a local high school soccer team can bring people together and get them excited. Plus, it’s been a fun little rabbit hole to fall into during my downtime.
And that’s my story about how I got sucked into the world of Morton West Soccer. It’s been a surprisingly fun ride, and I’m kind of looking forward to seeing how they do next season. Who knows, maybe I’ll even go to a game. It’s amazing how a simple poster can lead you down a whole new path, right?
