Okay, so I wanted to figure out who the fastest soccer players are. It’s a fun thing to know, right? So, I started digging around to find some info.
First, I googled “fastest soccer players”. I got a bunch of articles and videos. It was a bit overwhelming, to be honest. I skimmed through a few of them to get a general idea of who the usual suspects are.
The Usual Suspects
From what I could gather, there are a few names that kept popping up.
- Kylian Mbappe – This guy is crazy fast, apparently. Everyone says he’s like a blur on the field. I saw he clocked in at 38 km/h. How is that even possible?
- Alphonso Davies – He’s another speedster. I read that he hit 22.69 mph, and he was only 19 at the time! Insane.
- Some Italian guy – I found a mention of an Italian player who hit 21 mph during the recent Euros. I couldn’t find his name again. But still 21mph is so fast.
After getting a feel for the top names, I decided to check out some highlight reels on YouTube. I just searched for “Kylian Mbappe speed” and “Alphonso Davies speed” and watched a few videos. Man, these guys are seriously quick! It’s actually mind-blowing to watch them run past defenders like they’re standing still.
Then I tried to find some official stats. That was tougher. A lot of websites just list speeds without saying where they got the numbers from. I did find a few articles that mentioned specific matches where players were supposedly tracked, but it wasn’t easy to verify.
So, I ended up with a list of names and some impressive speed numbers, but I’m not 100% sure how accurate it all is. It’s more of a general idea of who the fastest players are supposed to be. I guess the only way to know for sure is to actually track them all in a controlled environment. Maybe I’ll do that next time, haha!
