Today, I want to talk to you all about my little adventure becoming a “soccer grandma.” It all started when my little grandson, Timmy, joined a soccer team. I was so excited to watch him play, I decided I was going to be the best soccer grandma ever!
First things first, I needed to get myself geared up. I went online and started looking for some soccer grandma essentials. I found this adorable “Soccer Grandma” t-shirt and just had to have it. Then, I got myself a nice, comfy folding chair because, let’s be honest, those bleachers aren’t exactly known for their comfort.
Next, I figured I needed a good bag to carry all my stuff. I found a big tote bag with lots of pockets. Perfect for snacks, drinks, sunscreen, and whatever else I might need. I even got it personalized with “Timmy’s #1 Fan” on it. Cheesy, I know, but I love it!

Now, for the actual games, I made sure I was prepared. I packed a cooler with plenty of water and Gatorade to keep my little soccer star hydrated. I also threw in some orange slices and granola bars because those kids burn a lot of energy out there. And, of course, I had to have my cowbell to cheer him on. Go, Timmy, go!
The first few games were a bit chaotic. I was so nervous, I kept yelling the wrong things. Like, “Kick it with your foot, Timmy!” Duh, grandma. But I got the hang of it eventually. I learned the rules, figured out the best way to cheer without embarrassing my grandson too much, and even made friends with some of the other soccer moms and grandmas.
It’s been a few months now, and I’m loving this soccer grandma life. I get to spend quality time with my grandson, watch him do something he loves, and be a part of a fun community. Plus, I get to wear my “Soccer Grandma” shirt with pride.
So, if you’re a grandma with a little one who plays soccer, embrace it! Get yourself some gear, pack your bag, and get ready to cheer your heart out. It’s a wild ride, but it’s totally worth it.
