So, I’ve been a die-hard Ducks fan since, like, forever. You know, since they were the Mighty Ducks, back in the day. I still have my old jersey somewhere. Anyway, I was browsing their website the other day, and I stumbled upon something pretty cool – their 2007 Stanley Cup rings.
Man, those rings are something else! I started digging around, trying to learn more about them. I mean, these are the rings they got after winning the Stanley Cup in 2007. They beat Ottawa Senators four games to one, I still remembered watching it on TV.
First of all, I spent time browsing their official website, as I said before, looking for some official information about the rings.
I found out that a company called Josten’s made these rings. They’re made of 14-karat yellow gold and are just covered in bling. We’re talking 554 diamonds, 16 princess-cut rubies, one round ruby, nine round blue sapphires, and 37 round yellow sapphires. That’s a lot of ice on the ice! One ruby is on the side of the ring where the players’ names and numbers are. I guess it symbolizes the victory and everyone’s efforts.
Then, I read some forum discussions, and I tried to figure out who got these rings.

I found out that it’s not just the players who get rings.

Apparently, the coaches, trainers, scouts, executives, and other staff members get them too. Pretty generous, right? It shows that everyone’s work was recognized and appreciated.
After that, I looked up some online stores, wanting to see if I can buy a replica or something similar.
I saw some listings on these online marketplaces. People are selling replicas, or maybe even the real deal, who knows. One listing I saw was from this seller called GWAntiquesCA. And I found that there’re lots of fans asking for it. It makes sense, the ring is a good collection for all the fans and even the players.
Finally, I went to read some news articles, wanting to know the stories behind the rings.
It’s kind of cool how they hand out the rings. Usually, the winning team gives rings to players who left the team throughout the following season. So, the first time a former player faces the team, they get their ring before the game. That’s a pretty awesome tradition. They did a good job to keep this tradition.
It made me think about how the Ducks were formed.
You know, they were originally owned by Disney and were called the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim. That’s because of the Disney movie, “The Mighty Ducks,” that came out in 1992. Man, I loved that movie as a kid! I even tried to play ice hockey, almost breaking my legs.
Anyways, I just thought I’d share my little adventure of learning about the Ducks’ Stanley Cup rings. It’s cool to see how much history and meaning is packed into these little pieces of jewelry. And to see everyone’s effort, not only the players but also all the staff, was recognized and appreciated. It’s things like this that make me love hockey even more. I guess I will keep digging and see if there is any interesting story that happened with the rings.
