Okay, so, today I wanted to mess around with something I saw online – a college football wheel spin thing. Basically, it’s this virtual wheel you spin, and it randomly picks a college football team for you. Sounds simple, right? But I thought it would be fun to see if I could make my own version and what I could do with it.
Getting Started
First off, I did some digging to see what was already out there. I found a few websites that had these pre-made wheels with all the college teams on them. You just click “spin,” and off it goes. They were okay, but I wanted something more customized. I wanted to be able to add my own stuff to the wheel, not just team names.
Making It My Own
So I started looking into how I could create one of these wheels myself. I stumbled upon some DIY tutorials, and many used this tool called “Picker Wheel.” It seemed pretty straightforward – you just type in whatever you want on the wheel, and it does the rest. I decided to give it a shot.
Experimenting with Picker Wheel
I went to the Picker Wheel website and started playing around. First, I added a bunch of college football teams, just to test it out. I typed in team names like “Alabama,” “Ohio State,” “Clemson” – you know, the big ones. Then, I hit the spin button, and sure enough, it worked! The wheel spun around and landed on a random team.
Adding Some Fun
But just having team names was kind of boring. So, I started getting creative. I added some funny things like “Team loses next game,” “Team wins by 20 points,” or even “Coach gets a Gatorade shower.” I wanted to make it more like a game-day prediction wheel or something you could use for a football party.
Playing Around with Different Ideas
- Game Day Predictions: I made a wheel specifically for predicting game outcomes. I put in things like “Home team wins,” “Away team wins,” “Overtime!” and “Interception in the last minute.”
- Party Games: Then, I made another wheel for a football party I was planning. This one had stuff like “Do 10 push-ups,” “Sing the fight song,” “Eat a spicy wing,” and “Trade jerseys with someone.”
- Rivalry Wheel: I even made a wheel dedicated to some of the biggest rivalries in college football. This one had matchups like “Alabama vs. Auburn,” “Ohio State vs. Michigan,” and “Army vs. Navy.” I thought it would be cool to spin it before a big rivalry game and see what it landed on.
The Final Result
Honestly, it was way more fun than I expected. I ended up spending a good chunk of my day just messing around with different wheel ideas. It’s super easy to use, and you can really customize it to whatever you want. I even shared the link of some of my wheels with my buddies, and they got a kick out of it too. It also reminded me of the first intercollegiate football game played between Rutgers and Princeton on Nov. 6, 1869. It’s fun to think about how much college football has evolved since then!
If you’re a college football fan or just like messing around with online tools, I definitely recommend giving this a try. It’s a fun little time-waster, and you might even come up with some cool ways to use it for game days or parties. And hey, if you do, let me know – I’m always looking for new ideas to add to my wheels!
