Okay, so I got my hands on the new JetSpeed FT6 Pro stick the other day, and let me tell you, I was pretty pumped to see what this thing is all about. I’ve been using the FT4 Pro for a while now, and that stick was a beast, so my expectations were high, to say the least.
First off, I gotta talk about the weight. I weighed this bad boy before cutting it down, and it came in at around 376 grams. That’s crazy light! When I held it in my hands, it felt like I was barely holding anything at all. They’re calling this new tech “Nanolite Shield,” and whatever it is, it’s definitely working some magic.
Now, I’m no scientist, but from what I gathered, they’ve used some sort of “Nanolite Carbon Layering” thingamajig with a foam core in the blade. Sounds fancy, right? I did notice they also added something called “RR-90 blade with damp core and peel-ply” to the blade. All I know is that when I stepped on the ice, the puck felt amazing on my blade. I could really feel where it was at all times, and my passes were crisp.
- I tried a few slap shots.
- Went bar down a couple of times, and boy, did it feel good!
- The puck just exploded off the blade.
The Result
They’ve also used this “Sigmatex spread tow” stuff in both the shaft and the blade. It seems to make the stick both lighter and stronger. I’m not gonna lie, I’m a bit of a hacker out there, and I tend to slash and get slashed quite a bit. This stick held up like a champ. It felt super solid and durable, even after taking a few good whacks. This “Hybrid-kick scoring machine” as CCM calls it, really does live up to its name. I felt like I could score from anywhere on the ice. My shots were harder and more accurate, and I just felt more confident with the puck on my stick.
All in all, I’m super impressed with the JetSpeed FT6 Pro. It’s light, it’s strong, it feels amazing, and it makes me want to be on the ice 24/7. If you’re in the market for a new stick, you’ve gotta give this one a try. You won’t regret it!
