Okay, so, I’ve been wanting to catch up on the Sewanee football schedule for a while now. As a big fan, I always make sure to keep track of when they’re playing. 2024 is a big year, and I wanted to be fully prepared. So I started my little research project.
First, I opened my browser and typed in “Sewanee football schedule 2024”. I scrolled through a bunch of search results, looking for the most reliable sources. I noticed ESPN kept popping up, so I figured they must have the most accurate information. It’s always good to go with the big names when you want reliable info, right?
I read through the listings and saw that they had game times, and some other details. One of the first games I spotted was on 9/14/2024 against Westminster College. That’s definitely one I’ll be marking on my calendar. I started jotting down the dates in my notebook, making sure I wouldn’t miss any important matchups.
Then I dug a bit deeper and found some more detailed information on some other sports sites. They mentioned that Sewanee fields 24 intercollegiate varsity teams and is a member of the NCAA Division III. They also compete in the Southern Athletic Association (SAA). It’s pretty cool to know that over 30 percent of the student body competes at the varsity level. That’s a lot of school spirit!
- Felt a sense of pride reading about Sewanee’s history, like how they had that epic road trip where they beat Texas, Texas A&M, Tulane, LSU, and Ole Miss. That’s some serious football history right there.
- Discovered that three Sewanee Tigers are members of the College Football Hall of Fame, including Henry Seibels. Made a mental note to look up more about him later.
I also found out that Andy McCollum was selected to lead the University of the South Football Program in 2023. It’s always interesting to see who’s coaching the team and what their background is. I kept reading and learned about an upcoming game against Maryville College (TN) on 9/7. Another one to add to my list!
My findings
After all this digging, I managed to piece together a pretty comprehensive schedule for the 2024 season. I made sure to note down all the dates, times, and opponents. I feel pretty good about being prepared now. It’s a good feeling knowing you won’t miss out on any of the action. Plus, it’s always fun to learn more about the team’s history and background. Now I just have to wait for the season to start. Go Tigers!
