Okay, so I was messing around with this baseball thing, right? I didn’t really know what I was doing, but I heard about this guy, Alex Bouchard. Apparently, he’s a pretty big deal in college baseball. He started out playing middle infield, but then he bulked up, like, 35 pounds over the summer. That’s crazy, right?
So, I started looking into him. This dude got drafted by the Boston Red Sox! That’s huge! He played for Dickinson College, and he’s only the second player from there to ever get drafted into the Major Leagues. I guess he switched to pitching at some point, and he’s really good at it.
I tried to find out more about his stats and stuff. I saw something about him being Lehigh’s 20th all-time draftee, and the eighth in just six drafts. That’s a lot of drafts! He must be really talented. I also found some stuff about transactions and dates, like July 27th. I’m not really sure what that’s about, but it seems important.
Here’s what I did:
- Read up on Alex Bouchard: I tried to find everything I could about him online. It wasn’t easy, but I got a decent idea of his story.
- Checked out his college: I looked up Dickinson College to see what their baseball program is like. It seems like a pretty cool place to play.
- Tried to understand the draft: I’m not a huge baseball expert, but I tried to figure out how the draft works and what it means for Alex.
My Thoughts
This whole thing got me thinking about how baseball is different from other sports. There’s no clock, right? So, a team can always come back, no matter how far behind they are. They just need to get those 27 outs. It’s kind of inspiring, you know? Like, no comeback is impossible. Alex Bouchard’s story is a bit like that, too. He changed positions, worked hard, and made it to the big leagues. It just shows that you never know what can happen if you put your mind to it.
It was a fun little deep dive into the world of college baseball. I still don’t know a whole lot about the sport, but I definitely learned something new today. And who knows, maybe I’ll even start following Alex Bouchard’s career. He seems like a cool guy with a great story.
