Alright, so a buddy of mine hit me up the other day, talking about the Memphis-USF football game. He’s a huge football fan, and to be honest, I’m just getting into it. Anyway, he mentioned that it was supposed to be this Friday but got moved. I was like, “Wait, what?” So, I started digging around to figure out what was up.
First thing I did was search for some basic info about the game. Turns out, it’s the Memphis Tigers against the USF Bulls. Okay, cool. I saw that Memphis was doing pretty well this season, 4 wins and 1 loss, while USF was at 2 wins and 3 losses. Interesting, I thought, sounds like a decent match-up.
- Checked the teams’ records: Memphis (4-1), USF (2-3).
- Noted the game was originally scheduled for Friday.
Then, I saw something about a hurricane. Apparently, there’s this thing called Hurricane Milton heading towards Florida, and that’s why the game got moved. It wasn’t just postponed, though. They rescheduled it for the very next day, Saturday, October 12th. I guess they really didn’t want to cancel it. I started reading more, and it turns out the game was supposed to be at Raymond James Stadium, but because of the hurricane, they moved it to Orlando.
- Found out about Hurricane Milton affecting the game.
- Learned the game was rescheduled to Saturday, Oct. 12th.
- Discovered the venue change from Raymond James Stadium to Orlando.
I kept reading and saw that this isn’t the first time USF had to move a game because of a hurricane. They mentioned something about another game in 2022 that got moved, too. Man, those Florida hurricanes, huh? It seems like the teams and fans are used to this kind of thing.
Anyways, the kickoff on Saturday is supposed to be at 2:30 p.m. CT, and it’s going to be on ESPN+. I don’t have cable, so that’s good news for me. I can just stream it online. I did come across something saying that tickets already purchased would still be valid, so that’s a relief for anyone who had already made plans.
- Noted it wasn’t the first time USF moved a game due to a hurricane.
- Confirmed kickoff time: 2:30 p.m. CT on ESPN+.
- Read that previously purchased tickets would still be valid.
It’s kind of crazy how they managed to reschedule everything so quickly. I mean, moving a whole football game to a different city on short notice? That’s some serious logistics right there. I guess both teams will just have to roll with the punches and adapt to the new situation.
Final Thoughts
So, that’s the story of how I got schooled on the Memphis-USF game and this whole hurricane situation. It’s been a bit of a wild ride, but hey, I learned something new. Now, when my buddy starts talking about the game, at least I won’t be totally clueless. Plus, I can finally watch the game with everyone at ease, knowing everything that’s been going on behind the scenes!
