Okay, so I’ve been digging into the new Louisville football uniforms for 2023, and let me tell you, it’s been a bit of a journey. First off, I gotta say, I’m a huge fan of the team, so I was pretty stoked when I heard they were getting new threads.
I started by scouring the internet for any info I could find. I stumbled upon a few articles and social media posts talking about the “Iron Wings” uniforms, and I was immediately intrigued. The name itself sounds pretty badass, right? And apparently, it got some fans talking, some good, some bad, you know how it is with sports fans.
- I watched the hype video – This was a big one. The team released a video on their social media showing off these gold-themed jerseys they’ll be wearing for the game against SMU. It was cool to see some highlights of the video, and the new design really popped. They’re paying homage to Muhammad Ali, which I thought was a really nice touch, considering he’s a Louisville legend.
- Then I dug into the history – I’m a bit of a history buff, so I wanted to see how these new uniforms stack up against the old ones. I found this site that had every uniform combination Louisville has ever worn, organized by year. It was like taking a trip down memory lane. I spent hours just browsing through all the different designs and color schemes.
- I also read up on uniform itself – Turns out, the word “jersey” wasn’t always used for athletic shirts. It used to refer to a specific type of knitted fabric. Who knew? It wasn’t until later that it became associated with sports uniforms.
After all that digging, I felt like I had a pretty good handle on the whole uniform situation. But here’s the real kicker – I decided to take it a step further and actually created my own mock-up of the new uniform, based on everything I saw. It was a bit of a challenge, but I got it done.
I’m pretty happy with how my mock-up turned out. It’s not perfect, but it captures the essence of what I saw in the video and the pictures. And hey, it was a fun little project to work on. I also took some pictures of my creation.
