Alright, so I’ve been messing around with fantasy football for a while now, and this year, I decided to go all-in on the Chiefs. I mean, who wouldn’t, right? Mahomes is a beast, and the whole team’s just fire. But the real struggle wasn’t even picking the players – it was coming up with a killer team name.
I spent, like, a whole afternoon just brainstorming. I started off basic, you know, like “The Chiefs Kingdom” or “Mahomes’ Mafia,” but those were just so…blah. I needed something with some pizzazz, something that would really get under my league-mates’ skin. I went searching through a bunch of posts and articles, most of them were junk. I did see one mentioning their social media following is huge, over 16 million, but that didn’t help me much, to be honest.
I started jotting down every idea that popped into my head, no matter how dumb. Here’s a glimpse of my messy list:
- Run CMC (Yeah, I know he is not a Chief, but still, it’s a good one.)
- Mahomes Alone
- Kelce’s Karaoke
- Arrowhead Annihilators
- Red Kingdom Reign
Then I thought, “What about some wordplay?” That’s when things got interesting. I came up with stuff like:
- Mahomes-work
- Post Mahomes
- Extreme Makeover: Mahomes Edition
- Mahomestown Hero
I even tried to come up with some random ones like “Top Gun: Patrick.” That one made me laugh, even though it’s kinda out there.
I finally asked a few friends who were Chiefs fans for help, and they gave me a couple of good ideas. We went back and forth, voting on the best ones until we finally had a list of names that I thought were pretty solid. One of them found some random blog post from October last year talking about how to dominate your league with a Chiefs name, but it wasn’t super helpful, to be honest. But there was another from, like, August of 2024 that had a pretty good list, so I jotted those down too.
After all that, I finally settled on a name that I think is pretty darn good. It’s got that perfect mix of cleverness and Chiefs pride. I am keeping it a secret for now, but I was proud of some of the ones I came up with on my own. What do you guys think? Any other Chiefs fans out there with some killer team names?
