Okay, so, today I wanna talk about something that I’ve been messing around with lately – the Shore Conference basketball standings. You know, I’m a huge basketball fan, and I always like to keep track of how the teams are doing. So, I started digging into this, and let me tell you, it’s been a bit of a journey.
First off, I started by just trying to find the most up-to-date standings. It’s the 2023-2024 season, so I figured there had to be some recent info out there. I hit up a bunch of different websites, you know, the usual sports news places and some dedicated to high school sports.
- Checked out some general sports news sites.
- Looked at sites specifically focused on high school sports.
- Even browsed through some team-specific pages.
It took a bit of searching, to be honest. Some sites had older standings from, like, 2018-19 or 2021-2022, which wasn’t really what I needed. But I finally found some current stuff. Seems like Point Pleasant Beach was doing pretty good in their division, with a 5-0 record in the division. That’s impressive!
Then I got curious about the whole tournament thing. You know, the NJSIAA county/conference tournament brackets. I stumbled upon a page that listed all these conferences – BCSL, Big North, Cape-Atlantic, and a bunch of others. It was interesting to see how things were organized.
Diving Deeper into the Teams
After that, I wanted to learn more about the actual teams and coaches. I found this “SSN All-Shore Team” list, which had a second and third team. And they even had a “Coach of the Year” section, and this guy Ben DiBiase got the title for 2023-24. Good for him!
Then I started looking at the scoreboards. Found one sponsored by SeaBreeze Ford, which was kinda cool. They had scores from different games, which was helpful to get a sense of how teams were performing against each other.
Figuring Out the Standings
I also found some detailed standings by division, like the “A Central” division. It showed overall records, division records, home and away records, and even points for and against. There was this team, Rumson-Fair Haven, that had a pretty solid record back in 2021-2022. They were 21-4 overall, which is really good.
So yeah, that’s basically what I’ve been up to with the Shore Conference basketball standings. It’s been a fun little project, digging through all this info and learning more about the teams and players. I’ll probably keep following along as the season goes on. It’s always exciting to see how things shake out in the end, right?
