So, I was digging around for some info on the Tennessee Volunteers, right? And I stumbled upon this name, Will Brooks. Honestly, I hadn’t heard of him before. I mean, I try to keep up with the team, but there are so many players, you know?
Anyways, it turns out this Will Brooks guy is a bit of a mystery. He’s a walk-on defensive back, joined the team back in 2020. A defensive back. I started to think about how many talented players must be there, grinding away, hoping for their shot.
Then I found out some cool stuff about him. He is the sixth student to win the Tucker Scholarship. Apparently, he’s the first guy, and the first from Cleveland County, N.C., to get it. That’s pretty awesome, right? It makes you wonder what kind of person he is off the field.
This got me thinking about the whole Tennessee football program. Did you know they have the most College Football Hall of Famers in the SEC? That’s saying something! I dove a bit deeper and realized they’re ranked seventh in major college football and ninth overall for Hall of Famers. Twenty-four, man! That’s a lot of legends.

Here’s a little list I put together of what the Tennessee Athletics program offers:
Anyway, back to Will Brooks. I guess the word is he’s got a “selfless attitude” and he’s a smart guy with leadership qualities. It seems like he’s the kind of player who’ll make an impact, whether he’s a starter or not. I always appreciate players like that, the ones who put the team first. It’s a good reminder that there’s more to football than just what happens on game day. It makes me even more excited to follow the Vols this season and see who steps up, Will Brooks included.
It is said that he will make an impact. I am really looking forward to seeing his performance.
So yeah, that’s my little deep dive into Will Brooks and Tennessee football. It’s funny how you can start looking for one thing and end up learning a whole bunch of other stuff. That’s what makes following sports so interesting, I guess. There are always new stories to discover.
