Hey everyone, it’s your boy back again with another one of my little projects. Today, I decided to tackle something a bit different – a crossword puzzle. The clue I was working on was “lands.” Sounds simple enough, right? But, man, it had me going in circles for a bit.
First, I started by just staring at the puzzle, you know, trying to let the answer magically appear in my head. I focused on the blank spaces, looking at the letters I already had filled in, seeing if anything clicked. Nothing. So, I decided to go at it a bit more methodically.
I started with the fill-in-the-blank clues – those usually give you some pretty good context and are easier to guess. I managed to fill in a few words around the “lands” space, hoping that seeing some of the intersecting letters would help. Still, I was drawing a blank. I even looked online to see how others tackled the December 22nd crossword. Some folks thought it might be “GETS” or “NATIONS.”

- Checked out the intersecting clues.
- Looked up some common answers online.
Feeling a bit stuck, I decided to take a break and come back to it later. But then, after scrolling through some online crossword forums – yeah, I’m that guy now – I found a site that had a database of a bunch of possible crossword answers. According to them, there were like 60 possible answers for “lands.” 60! Can you believe that? It’s like a word jungle out there.
Anyway, I started plugging in some of the suggestions. “GETS,” “NATIONS,” and a few others that were 4-8 letters long. I even found one site that had like 8 different solutions just for “lands”. It felt like I was getting closer. After some trial and error, and a few more trips to the online crossword solver tools, I finally cracked the code.
What I Learned
This whole crossword thing really taught me that sometimes, you just gotta keep trying different angles. And hey, there’s no shame in using some tools to help you out. Whether it’s a crossword puzzle or something else, persistence and a little help from your friends (or the internet) can go a long way!
