Okay, so today I tried to tackle the “extremely solid” clue in the New York Times crossword. Let me tell you, it was a bit of a journey!
I started by staring at the puzzle, you know, like we all do. I tried to think of all the synonyms for “solid” that I could. “Hard,” “firm,” “dense”… nothing seemed to fit right away. Then I looked at the date, September 20, 2024, because I saw some people mention it online. I figured maybe there was something special about that specific puzzle.
I started to read something about the answers. Then, I started to search for solutions online, and found many related to the crossword puzzle, most of which were related to the answer “HARDASAROCK.” I went back to the puzzle and counted the spaces.
Getting Closer
- The clue was “extremely solid.”
- The answer needed to have 10 letters.
So I entered “HARDASAROCK” into the grid, and boom! It fit perfectly. I felt pretty good at this point, like I’d cracked some secret code or something. I saw that other people online were also talking about this clue and its solution, so I knew I was on the right track.
I read a little more about how the NYT crossword puzzles are made, and it’s actually pretty interesting. Apparently, they get harder as the week goes on. This one was edited by someone named Will Shortz. Anyway, I finished the rest of the puzzle, feeling like a total champ. It’s funny how these little things can make your day. It’s a good sense of accomplishment, you know?
