Hey everyone, I wanted to share a little project I got involved with recently. It’s about the St. Francis de Sales football team in Toledo. Yeah, I know, not exactly my usual tech stuff, but it turned out to be pretty interesting.
So, it all started when I bumped into an old friend, Jamie Kachmarik, who’s the athletic director and head basketball coach at St. Francis. We got to chatting, and he mentioned how they were trying to revamp the football program. They had a rough season last year, only winning one game. Apparently, they brought in a new coach, Josh Lindke, to turn things around.
Now, I’m not a huge football guy, but I was intrigued. I mean, 1-9 is pretty bad. I asked Jamie how this new coach planned to fix things. He said Josh was all about building trust and relationships with the players. He had been the offensive coordinator a few years back, so he already knew some of the guys. The school seems pretty serious about this because I found out that this year’s record is 8-4. It’s a huge improvement!
This whole thing got me curious, so I started digging around online. I found their schedule for the 2024 season on some sports website. I also stumbled upon some game schedules and scores. They’ve got games against some pretty tough teams. It looks like they’re really stepping up their game.
My Deep Dive into the Schedule
I spent a good chunk of time analyzing their schedule, you know, just for fun. Here’s what I noticed:
- They’ve got a mix of home and away games.
- The season kicks off in late August and goes on until early November.
- They’re playing teams from all over the area, even some from out of state.
- There’s a game on September 27th against the University of Detroit Jesuit that caught my eye.
Honestly, I never thought I’d be so interested in high school football. But this whole turnaround story at St. Francis de Sales is pretty cool. It just goes to show that with the right leadership and a focus on building a strong team culture, you can achieve some pretty amazing results. I guess I’ll be keeping an eye on their progress next season. You never know, I might even catch a game or two! Who would have thought, right? I just wanted to share my experience with you.
Stay tuned, folks!
