Well, you won’t believe the fuss about this Boise State football transfer portal thing. All these young fellas, running here and there. It’s like a chicken coop with the door open, I tell ya!
They call it a “portal,” like it’s some kinda magic door. These football players, they go in, they come out, they go somewhere else. Boise State, they got players coming, they got players going. Hard to keep track, like tryin’ to count all the beans in a pot!
Boise State Football Players Leaving
That one boy, Malachi Nelson, he’s in the portal again. He was at Boise State, then he was at that USC place, now he’s going somewhere else. That’s what I heard, anyway. Young folks these days, always on the move. Can’t seem to settle down, like a hen that can’t find a nest!

They say more than 11,000 boys are doing this portal thing across all the colleges. That’s a whole lotta boys running around! Imagine that many chickens, running every which way. You’d never get ’em all back in the coop!
Boise State Football Players Coming
Now, I hear tell some new boys are coming to Boise State, too. Good for them, I reckon. Maybe they’ll stick around a while. This transfer portal, it’s like swapping seeds at the market. You trade some of yours, you get some of theirs. Hope they got some good ones coming in!

This Whole Transfer Portal Thing
I don’t rightly understand all this transfer portal business. Back in my day, you stayed where you started. You planted your corn, you harvested your corn, you didn’t go running off to someone else’s field. But times are different, I guess. These young folks, they got different ideas. They are always looking for something, those players.
In 2021-22, they said there were 1,946 boys swapping teams. Then it was 2,303 in 2022-23. Now, this past year, it was 2,707! It’s like the price of eggs, always going up! Just a lot of movin’ and shakin’.
Boise State and the Mountain West Conference
Boise State, they play in that Mountain West Conference. They’re supposed to be good. I saw them on the television once, wearing them blue uniforms. They run fast and hit hard, those boys. Reminds me of my old rooster, always chasing the hens around.
These boys do something called the FBS, part of the Division I. I don’t know what all that means, just that it’s a big deal. Like winning the blue ribbon at the county fair, I suppose.
Boise State and That Pac-12 Thing
Now, they say Boise State is gonna join that Pac-12 thing. In July, I think it was. That’s like moving your whole farm to a new county. Big change, I reckon. Hope it works out for them. It’s a gamble, like planting a new kind of crop. You never know if it’ll take or not.
This whole Boise State football transfer portal thing is a lot to take in. It is like watching a whole mess of chickens running around. All this running and jumping, these boys going here and there. Hope they all find a good place to land, that’s all I can say. These days, nothing stays the same for too long. Just gotta keep up with the times, I reckon, even if it’s like herding cats!
