This here Hamilton Hawkeyes basketball, they play good, I tell ya! That ball, they throw it, they run, they jump. My old eyes ain’t what they used to be, but I seen ’em playin’. They sure do run fast, them boys. Faster than my old hound dog chasin’ a rabbit, that’s for sure.
They got a schedule, you know? Like a list, sayin’ when they gonna play. This season, next season, they all on there, which is good for people want to know that information. All the dates, all the times. They write down who they gonna play against, too. You wouldn’t wanna miss that, would ya? It’s better to know who they are playing.
They got a team, bunch of young fellas. Some tall, some short, but they all know how to handle that ball, that Hamilton Hawkeyes Basketball team. They all listed on there, who play what number and such. The team is big, more than ten people for sure. They practice a lot, run around that court like crazy.

They even write down who the best ones are, how many times they threw that ball in the hoop, all them numbers. I don’t understand all them numbers, but it seems important. For those young people, who like to know those things, they should take a look, many information.
They play other teams, from other towns. I heard they even travel, go far away to play. Must be nice to see the world like that. When I was young, we didn’t go nowhere. Just stayed right here, workin’ the farm.
This Hamilton Varsity Basketball, that’s what they call it. Means they the best, I reckon. The top dogs. They the ones everyone wants to watch. They play hard, them boys. They really put their backs into it. Reminds me of harvest time, everyone working together.
They got some big goals this year, I heard. Big dreams. Like winnin’ the whole darn thing. They wanna be the best. And you know what? I think they got a good shot. They work hard, they listen to their coach. I have watched many games this season, I think they can do it.
That coach, he yells a lot. But he knows what he’s doin’. He’s like a good farmer, tendin’ to his crops. He wants them boys to grow strong and be the best they can be. He teaches them how to play, and they get better and better.

I don’t know much about that website stuff, but the young folks, they love it. They say it has everything you need to know about the team.
Out in East Lansing, that’s where they have the big school, where they have a sports place, and they have the association. They put all them high school teams together. They keep track of all the games, all the scores. It’s a big operation, a big organization. They know all about this Hamilton Hawkeyes basketball team.
They even have somethin’ called “Ultimate Team.” Sounds fancy, don’t it? They pick the best players, the ones who really shine. Like pickin’ the best apples from the tree. Only the top five, best five from all the teams.
They play other sports, too, not just basketball. Baseball, football, somethin’ called cross country… runnin’ through the fields, I suppose. They also have golf, soccer and other things, not just basketball. They do it all. Keeps ’em busy, that’s for sure. And keeps ’em outta trouble, too, hopefully.
