Well, let me tell you, this here Troy High School football schedule for 2024, it’s somethin’ else. My old eyes ain’t what they used to be, but I can still see them boys out there playin’ their hearts out. This year, 2024, they got a whole mess of games lined up. And you can see the whole dang thing at *, that’s what I hear. Opponents, dates, times, the whole shebang.
First off, you gotta know when these games are gonna be. They start in August, that much I know. Week 00, they call it, Friday, August 16th. Sounds fancy, don’t it? They got games all the way through the season. That’s a lot of football, I tell ya. And if you want to know about the Troy Trojans, just call (937) 332-6068, that’s what I heard. But Lord knows who answers.
Now, these boys, they’re playin’ against all sorts of teams. I seen the list, and it’s longer than my arm. They got opponents comin’ from all over. And they got different kinds of games, too. Varsity, JV, Freshman… even somethin’ called “Flag.” It’s all written down somewhere, that’s for sure. It says right there, “Boys Varsity Football schedule.”
These games, they ain’t all at the same time, neither. Some are in the mornin’, some are in the evenin’. And they go on for hours! I hear two, maybe three hours, each game is. So if it starts at 7, it might not be over till 9 or 10! That’s a long time to be sittin’ on those bleachers, I tell ya. Better bring a cushion, that’s what I always say. But that’s just me. Young folks got more energy than this old gal.
And where they playin’? Well, they’ll be playin’ at their home field, I reckon. But they travel, too. They go to other schools to play. It’s a big deal, this high school football. They even got championships! All six classes play their championship games at the University of Kentucky’s Kroger Field in Lexington. I don’t know why it’s called Kroger Field. And there’s a Class 2A final, Class 4A final, whatever that means. It says here 4 p.m. for the 2A thing.
- August 16th, that’s the first game, I think.
- They play all through the season.
- They got Varsity, JV, and Freshman teams.
- Games are 2-3 hours long, maybe longer.
- They play at home and away.
- Championships are at some place called Kroger Field.
Now, they say you gotta check the school website. That’s where they put all the updates and such. Things change, you know. Weather, injuries, who knows what all. They got somethin’ called an “Athletic Calendar” on the home page. That’s where you find out if they moved a game or somethin’. So you gotta keep your eyes peeled, especially if you’re plannin’ on goin’ to a game. And you can see it all at *, they tell me.
And there is this thing called “Raffle Day”, Sunday, September 29. I don’t know what they raffling off, maybe a pie or somethin’. That’s at the Troy High School. And they got this thing, the “2024 Football and Cheer Regular Season Schedule.” Sounds like a whole lot of hootin’ and hollerin’ to me. You can find out about that, I guess.
This 2024 Troy Football Schedule, it’s important to these boys. It’s important to the whole town, really. Brings folks together. Gives ’em somethin’ to cheer about. And these boys, they work hard. They practice and practice, rain or shine. They deserve a good crowd, that’s what I say. This Mississippi high school football is entering its final week of the 2024 season. Fourteen schools will be in the MHSAA’s football state finals. All seven games will be at M.M. Roberts Stadium in Hattiesburg from Dec. What a mouthful!
So, if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ to do on a Friday night, or maybe a Saturday, you might wanna check out one of these games. It’s a sight to see, that’s for sure. Just remember what I said about those bleachers, though! You can even watch it at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton, if you are not going to Hattiesburg. And maybe bring a snack, too. A body gets hungry watchin’ all that runnin’ around.
