Well, let me tell ya ’bout this LIV Golf thing in Adelaide, ya know, the one they’re makin’ such a big fuss about. I ain’t no expert, but I heard folks talkin’, and I seen some things on that telly, so I’ll try to make sense of it for ya.
What’s this LIV Golf all about, anyway?
From what I gather, it’s a golf thing, a golf competition. They say it’s somethin’ new, somethin’ different. Not like that old PGA thing, ya know. These folks, they play a little faster, it seems. Only 54 holes they play, not like that 72 holes they used to do, the old way takes forever, bless their hearts. And they call it “LIV” ’cause that’s 54 in them fancy Roman numbers, who knew? It’s all a bit confusing if ya ask me, but that’s what they say.
Adelaide, huh? Fancy place.
So, they had this big golf shindig in Adelaide. They call it LIV Golf Adelaide. Heard it was a real humdinger! Folks came from all over, I reckon. They played golf, and they had some music too, I like music more, keeps my feet tappin’. They had some fellas playin’ guitars and such. That DJ Dom Dolla, they said he was gonna play, the young’uns like his stuff. Sounded like a real party, though I’m too old for parties now, give me a cup of tea and a biscuit any day.
- When was it? Well, they had one last year, in 2023, in April, I think. And now they’re plannin’ another one for 2025. They seem to like Adelaide. Can’t blame them, it’s a nice enough place, I suppose.
- Where did they play? At this place called The Grange Golf Club. Sounds fancy, don’t it? I bet it’s got them nice green lawns, all mowed real short. I like a nice lawn, though my knees ain’t what they used to be for mowin’ these days.
Tickets and such
Now, if you wanted to go watch, you gotta get tickets. They say they sold tickets online, on that internet thing. And they got all sorts of fancy tickets, hospitality they call it. I don’t know what that means, but it sounds expensive. I bet they had nice food, not like my old sandwiches I eat. They started sellin’ them tickets in October, for the next year’s show in 2025. Early birds get the worm, they say.
Watchin’ on the telly
If you couldn’t make it to Adelaide, you could still watch it on the telly, or on that Youtube thing. They showed it live, they did. So you could see them fellas hittin’ them little white balls all over the place. I watched a bit, but it’s kinda slow, ya know. I prefer watchin’ them cooking shows, much more exciting.
Some big changes to Golf
They say this LIV Golf is shakin’ things up in the golf world. I don’t know much about that, but it seems like some folks ain’t too happy about it. Something about players gettin’ the boot if they don’t play good enough. They call it the “drop zone.” Sounds scary, like fallin’ off a cliff. But I guess that’s how it is in these competitions, gotta be the best, or you’re out. Not like in my garden, every flower gets to grow whether it’s pretty or not.
From small beginnings to “best in the world”
I heard some folks sayin’ this LIV Golf started small, like a little seed, and now it’s growin’ into somethin’ big. They’re callin’ it the “World’s best golf event” now. Well, I don’t know about that, but it sure seems popular. And they sure are puttin’ a lot of money into it.
Big important guys saying things
There was even that Premier, Peter Malinauskas, he was talkin’ about it. He was the one who said they were gonna have it in Adelaide again. He must be a big important fella, if he’s makin’ announcements about golf tournaments. I don’t pay much attention to them politicians, always talkin’ and talkin’, not much doin’ half the time.
So, that’s about it
So, that’s what I know about this LIV Golf Adelaide thing. It’s golf, it’s music, it’s fancy tickets, and it’s in Adelaide. Sounds like a good time, if you like that sort of thing. Me, I’m happy with my cup of tea and my garden. But it’s nice to see people havin’ fun, I guess. Even if it is just hittin’ little white balls around a big lawn.
When can you watch it?
They say you can watch it live on Thursday and Friday, noon to four in the afternoon. And then on Saturday, from half past twelve to five. That’s a lot of golf, if you ask me. But I guess some folks really love it. Me, I’ll be watchin’ my soaps, much more my style. All that drama and romance, that’s what I like.
