Well, let me tell ya, finding a golf job in Orange County ain’t like pickin’ oranges, no sir. It takes a bit of lookin’ around, but there’s plenty of work if you know where to find it. Golf jobs Orange County, that’s what they call it, fancy like. Sounds important, but it just means workin’ at them golf places, you know?
First thing you gotta know is there’s all sorts of jobs. Some folks, they work inside the golf shop, sellin’ them fancy clubs and hats. They call ’em “Golf Shop Attendants,” real highfalutin, but it’s just sellin’ stuff. Then you got the fellas takin’ care of the golf carts, “Cart Attendants” they are. They make sure them carts are all charged up and ready to go. And don’t forget the folks keepin’ the grass all nice and green, the “Groundskeepers.” That’s hard work, bendin’ over all day, but somebody’s gotta do it. My grandson, he tried that once, said his back hurt somethin’ fierce after just one day!
Then there’s the folks up at the front desk, “Front Desk Agents,” greetin’ people and takin’ their money. And some places even need folks to build stuff, “Builders,” they call ’em. Probably fixin’ up the golf course, or maybe buildin’ them little bridges over the water. Lots of different jobs, see? You just gotta figure out what you’re good at. Or, what you can stand doin’ all day, ha!
- Golf Shop Attendant: Sellin’ stuff, talkin’ to folks.
- Cart Attendant: Messin’ with them golf carts, makin’ sure they run.
- Groundskeeper: Keepin’ the grass green, back-breakin’ work.
- Front Desk Agent: Smilin’ and takin’ money, easy peasy.

They even got these “Golf Professional” jobs. Now, that sounds fancy, don’t it? I reckon those are for the folks who teach people how to swing them golf clubs. My husband tried golf once. Swung so hard he fell over and landed in the sand trap! Golf ain’t for everyone, that’s for sure. But if you’re good at it, I guess you can make a livin’ teachin’ others.
And listen to this, they got these “Administrative Assistant” jobs too. Now, that’s just a fancy word for folks doin’ office work, answerin’ phones and such. Every place needs somebody to keep things organized, even a golf course, I guess. And then there’s something called “Outside Service Attendant”. Sounds like they help folks outside, maybe carryin’ their golf bags or somethin’. See? Lots of different ways to make a buck at them golf places.
