Well, let me tell ya ’bout this radio redbull thing, or whatever them youngsters call it nowadays. I ain’t too good with all this fancy technology, but I reckon I can still spin a yarn or two about it.
So, from what I gather, this here redbull ain’t just some drink that gives ya wings, like they say on the TV. It’s also got somethin’ to do with music, which, I gotta say, is a whole lot better than flyin’ around like a bat outta hell. They got this… this “radio” thing, see? It’s like that old box we used to have in the kitchen, ‘cept this one plays all sorts of newfangled tunes.
They say it’s on the “web,” which I guess is like a giant spiderweb made outta wires and whatnot. And on this web radio, they got all these shows, playin’ music I ain’t never heard before. It ain’t like the country songs we used to listen to on the porch swing, that’s for sure. But some of it ain’t half bad, I tell ya. Got a good beat, makes ya wanna tap your feet, even if ya don’t understand a word they’re singin’.
Now, they used to have this thing called the Red Bull Music Academy, and another one called Red Bull Radio. Sounded mighty fancy, but I guess they shut ’em down. Somethin’ about bein’ too centralized, not spreadin’ the love around enough. So now they’re doin’ things a bit different, focusing on local music and events, which I think is a good thing. Keeps things closer to home, ya know?
- They still play music, that’s for sure. All sorts of it, from all over the place.
- And they got these “events” too, which I reckon are like big ol’ parties with music and dancin’. Sounds like a hoot, though my old bones ain’t up for much dancin’ these days.
- They say it’s all about “pushing sound forward,” which sounds like a whole lotta work to me. But I guess someone’s gotta do it, keep things interesting and all that.
I heard someone talkin’ about how this redbull radio is tryin’ to be better than some other radio thing, called “Beats1” or somethin’. And that RBMA Radio they used to have, well, folks were sayin’ it was a smart way to help folks find new music in this here internet world. Seems like there’s so much music out there, you could get lost in it forever, like a chicken in a cornfield.
So this here redbull music, it’s tryin’ to help ya find your way, I guess. They got collections of songs, interviews with them music folks, videos, even lectures! Can you believe it? Lectures about music! I reckon that’s somethin’ for the young folks who wanna learn all the ins and outs of it. Me? I just like to listen.
They talk about “collections,” “features,” “interviews,” “videos,” and them “lectures”. That’s a lot of stuff, but it all boils down to music, far as I can tell. They got a whole bunch of different shows, each one with its own kinda music. Some are fast, some are slow, some are loud, some are soft. There’s somethin’ for everyone, I reckon.
And you can “subscribe” to it, they say. Which I guess means you sign up and they send you new music all the time. It’s like gettin’ a letter in the mail, only it’s got music in it instead of news from your cousin Earl. They say it’s the “latest music from the world of Red Bull,” which sounds mighty important, though I ain’t sure what a red bull knows about music. But hey, if it sounds good, it sounds good, right?
Red Bull Energy Drink, like I said, it gives ya wings. But this here redbull music, it gives ya somethin’ else. It gives ya a way to hear new sounds, to discover new artists, to tap your feet and maybe even shake your hips a little, even if you’re an old lady like me. And that, I reckon, is a pretty good thing. It keeps ya young at heart, even if your knees ain’t what they used to be.
So, if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ new to listen to, somethin’ a little different from the same old songs on the radio, you might wanna check out this here radio redbull thing. It ain’t for everyone, that’s for sure. But if you’re open to new sounds and new experiences, you might just find somethin’ you like. And who knows, you might even feel like you got wings, without havin’ to drink that sugary stuff.
And if you really want to understand what it’s about, just listen. Listen to the music, listen to the folks talkin’ about the music. That’s the best way to learn, I always say. Forget about all them fancy words and technical stuff. Just close your eyes and let the music take you away. That’s what it’s all about, ain’t it?
