Alright, listen up, y’all. We gonna talk about them good ol’ white fellas playin’ basketball, you know, in that NBA thingamajig. The best ones, they say. I don’t know much about all that fancy dribblin’ and dunkin’, but I heard some names, and I seen some fellas on that TV box, so I’ll tell ya what I know.
First off, they all talkin’ ’bout this Larry Bird fella. Larry somethin’-somethin’, they call him “Legend,” like he some kinda storybook hero. Well, I guess he was pretty good, shootin’ that ball and all. Folks say he the best white player ever. Can you believe it? A white fella, runnin’ and jumpin’ like that. He musta ate his Wheaties, that’s for sure.

- Then there’s this Jokic fella, big ol’ boy.
Now, there’s this other guy, Nikola Jokić. Sounds foreign, don’t it? He a big fella, kinda clumsy lookin’, but he knows how to get that ball in the hoop, that’s for sure. He ain’t jumpin’ like them other fellas, but he’s smart, like a fox. He sees things, passes the ball, and boom! Another point for his team. He’s playin’ right now, still young, so maybe he’ll be better than Larry Bird one day, who knows?
They tell me about some other fellas too. Jerry West, that’s an old name, even I heard of him back in the day. He was good, real good. Then there’s Dirk Nowitzki, tall fella, shootin’ like a machine. John Stockton, quick as a hiccup, passin’ the ball all over the place. Rick Barry, now he was a character, underhand shots and all. And this young fella, Luka Dončić, another one of them foreign boys, he’s real good too.
And there are some fellas playin’ right now they sayin’ are good. That Porzingis fella, tall and skinny like a beanpole. Gordon Hayward, he looks like a nice boy, plays hard. Kevin Love, another one, strong as an ox. These youngsters, they runnin’ and jumpin’, shootin’ and passin’. It’s a whole different game now, faster, I reckon.
But you know, it don’t matter where they come from, or what color their skin is. If they can play ball, they can play ball. That’s what I say. It’s like farmin’, you gotta be good with your hands, gotta be smart, gotta work hard. Same with basketball, I guess. These fellas, they put in the time, they practice, they sweat, and they get good. And that’s all there is to it.
So, who’s the best? Well, I don’t know. They all good in their own way. Larry Bird, he was somethin’ special, that’s for sure. But this Jokić fella, he’s somethin’ too. And who knows, maybe there’s some young boy out there right now, shootin’ hoops in his backyard, who’s gonna be even better than all of ‘em. That’s the thing about life, you just never know what’s gonna happen next.
Anyways, that’s what I know about them white fellas in the NBA. They good, real good. And that’s all that matters, ain’t it?
