Well, let me tell ya about that there Auburn football game score, or whatever you young folks call it. I ain’t no fancy sports person, but I can tell ya what I heard and saw, ya know, the important stuff.
So, this big game, they call it the Iron Bowl, happened on a Saturday. Alabama played Auburn. Folks get all riled up about this game, like it’s the end of the world or somethin’. Alabama won, that much I know. Beat Auburn 28 to 14, I think it was. Heard it on the radio, that fella was yellin’ so loud!
- Alabama scored 28 points.
- Auburn got 14 points.
Now, that Jalen fella for Alabama, he was somethin’ else. Ran like a jackrabbit and threw that ball like it was nothin’. He got them a bunch of yards, and scored three touchdowns, too. That boy can really move, faster than a chicken runnin’ from a fox, I tell ya!
Auburn, well, they tried, bless their hearts. But they just couldn’t keep up with Alabama, not this time anyway. They had some of them…what do ya call ‘em…takeaways? Yeah, more than three of them, I heard. But still didn’t win. Guess that means they got the ball from Alabama a few times but didn’t do enough with it. Happens, I guess. Like when you try to catch a chicken, and it slips right through your hands.
This Alabama team, they’re pretty good. Folks say they might even get into somethin’ called the playoffs. Don’t rightly know what that is, but sounds important. They won eight games and lost three, so that must be pretty good, right? And they played at home, in Alabama, and they won all their home games this year. That’s somethin’, to be undefeated at home.
Now, Auburn, they didn’t do so hot this year. Won five games and lost six. Heard they started with a new coach, a fella named Freeze. Guess he’s gotta figure things out for next year. They played a bowl game against Maryland and lost that one too, 31 to 13. And another one against Houston and lost 17 to 13. They even lost to Northwestern 35 to 19 in some other bowl game a while back. Seems like them bowl games ain’t been too kind to Auburn lately. Just like when you try to bake a cake, and it comes out flat every time. Frustratin’, it is.
The game was on TV, ABC I think. Started in the afternoon, around 3:30 their time. I didn’t watch it all, too much hollerin’ for my old ears. But I caught some of it. Saw that Jalen fella runnin’ and them fellas bumpin’ into each other. It’s a rough game, that football.
They also played another game at the beginnin’ of the season, against some team called UMass. Auburn won that one, 59 to 14. Big ol’ win, that was. But guess it didn’t mean much in the long run. It’s like plantin’ a big garden, but then the bugs eat most of it up, you know?
So, that’s the gist of it, as best as I can tell ya. Alabama won, Auburn lost. That’s the important part, right? Scores and winners and losers. Don’t get too caught up in all them fancy details. Just like in life, some days you win, some days you lose. And sometimes, you just gotta be happy with a warm cup of coffee and a slice of pie. And that’s the truth, I tell ya.
