Alright, listen up, y’all. Let’s talk about this here football, the kind them college boys play. Georgia State and South Alabama, that’s what we’re lookin’ at. Don’t know much about fancy stats or nothin’, but I can tell you who won and who lost, and maybe a little bit about how it all went down.
Now, South Alabama, them Jaguars, they been playin’ ball for a while now. They got a schedule, you know, games they gotta play. Saturdays mostly, seems like. They played in 2023 and they playin’ again in 2024. Keepin’ busy, them boys are. I seen some folks talkin’ about their scores and results, and they got a whole team of fellas, a roster they call it. All them games, they write ’em down in somethin’ called game logs, I hear. And then they got splits too, whatever that means.
Georgia State, they got a team too. I reckon they play on Saturdays mostly too. Heard tell they wear blue and white, but don’t quote me on that. Anyways, when these two teams get together, it’s a real ruckus, I tell ya. Lots of runnin’ and yellin’ and smashin’ into each other. That’s what football’s all about, ain’t it?
- So, 2023, they played. South Alabama had a whole bunch of games. Saturdays, like I said.
- 2024, same thing. More games, more Saturdays. These boys don’t get much rest, do they?
- And they got this thing, the NCAAF season, that’s what they call it. Sounds fancy, but it’s just football, far as I can tell.
Now, I ain’t gonna sit here and pretend I know all the ins and outs of this game. I see the ball get thrown, I see the boys runnin’, I see ’em fall down. That’s about it. But I can tell you this: it’s excitin’. Gets your blood pumpin’, even if you don’t know a touchdown from a field goal. And folks get real worked up about it, cheerin’ and hollerin’ for their team. It’s somethin’ to see, that’s for sure.
They got all sorts of ways to keep track of this stuff nowadays. You can find the scores online, they say. And the schedules too. Even got TVs and radios that tell you what’s happenin’ right then and there. Back in my day, we just went to the game and watched it with our own two eyes. Simpler times, I tell ya.
South Alabama, they got a history, I hear. Been playin’ football for a good long while. And they got folks followin’ ’em, watchin’ every game, cheerin’ ’em on. Georgia State, they got their fans too, I reckon. Everybody wants their team to win, that’s just human nature. And when they do win, oh boy, it’s a celebration. But when they lose, well, folks ain’t too happy about that.
So, this game, Georgia State versus South Alabama, it’s a big deal, at least to some folks. They get all dressed up in their team colors, they paint their faces, they yell and scream until they lose their voices. Me, I just sit back and watch. It’s entertainin’, I’ll give it that. And sometimes, you see somethin’ real special, a player makin’ a great run or catchin’ the ball just right. That’s what makes it all worthwhile, I guess.
They say you can find the scores and the dates and the times and all that on the internet. And you can even watch the games on TV, sometimes even on your phone, can you believe it? Times sure have changed. But the game, it’s still the same. Boys runnin’ around, throwin’ a ball, tryin’ to score. And folks cheerin’ ’em on. That’s football, plain and simple.
Now, I ain’t gonna tell you who’s gonna win this year, or next year, or any year. That’s the fun of it, ain’t it? You never know what’s gonna happen. One team could be winnin’ big, and then the other team comes back and steals the game right at the end. It’s a nail-biter sometimes, I tell ya. But one thing’s for sure: them boys are gonna play their hearts out, and the fans are gonna be right there with ’em, every step of the way. That’s what makes college football so special.
