Alright, listen up, y’all. We gotta figure out this football stuff, this “Deebo Samuel or Rashid Shaheed” thing. Folks keep yammerin’ about it, so let’s get to the bottom of it, country-style. No fancy talk, just plain sense.
First off, this Deebo fella. He’s supposed to be some big shot, a “WR1” they call him. But honest to goodness, he ain’t been playin’ like one. My grandson, bless his heart, he keeps track of these things. Says Deebo’s been kinda… well, he ain’t been doin’ much lately. Only 4.7 points a game the last few weeks? That ain’t gonna win you no games, I tell ya. Sounds like he’s been sittin’ on the bench more than catchin’ balls. Some other fella, Jennings or somethin’, is outplayin’ him. Go figure.
Now, this Shaheed guy, I don’t know much about him. But folks are talkin’, sayin’ he might be a better pick. They got these fancy tools and “projections” they use. Says Shaheed might get you more points. And points is what wins games, right? That’s what my grandson tells me, anyway. He’s always fiddlin’ with his phone, lookin’ at these numbers. Makes my head spin.
- Deebo, he’s got a fancy name, folks even make up funny names about him for their “fantasy teams.” “Son of Samuel,” they call it. Sounds silly to me.
- Shaheed, well, his name is just… Shaheed. No fancy stuff. Maybe that means he gets down to business.
People are always askin’, “Who should I start? Deebo or Shaheed?” Well, shoot, if one fella ain’t doin’ so good and the other fella might do better, seems like a no-brainer to me. But what do I know? I just watch the games and yell at the TV.
They got these “experts,” hundreds of ’em, givin’ advice. They say this and that, but half the time they’re wrong. My grandson, he reads what they say, but he don’t always listen. He goes with his gut, and sometimes he wins, sometimes he loses. That’s football, I guess.
This “fantasy football,” it’s a whole ‘nother thing. Folks get all worked up about it. They name their teams crazy things, like “Deebo Ahead, Make my Day!” or “Finding Deebo.” Land sakes! It’s just a game, people! But I guess it gives folks somethin’ to do, somethin’ to talk about. Keeps ’em outta trouble, maybe.
So, back to this Deebo and Shaheed. Week 13, Week 14, Week 15… they keep arguin’ about who to start. It’s always, “Is Deebo healthy? Is Shaheed gonna play?” Seems like a lot of worryin’ to me. If a fella’s hurt, don’t play him! If he ain’t playin’ good, bench him! Simple as that.
And then there’s this other fella my grandson was talkin’ about, Darnold or Stroud or somethin’. He’s all confused about who to keep on his team. Says one fella’s been good but had a few bad games, and the other fella might be good but hasn’t done much yet. Sounds like he’s got a tough choice to make, just like this Deebo and Shaheed thing.
Look, if you got a choice and one fella is doin’ better than the other, seems to me you go with the fella doin’ better. Points is points, that’s what I say. And if this Deebo ain’t gettin’ you points, then maybe it’s time to try this Shaheed fella. Or maybe just flip a coin. Sometimes that’s the best way to make a decision, you know? Don’t overthink it.
Now, they got these fancy “PPR projections” too. Whatever that means. Sounds like a bunch of mumbo jumbo to me. All I know is, you want the fella who’s gonna catch the ball and score touchdowns. That’s how you win games, whether it’s real football or this “fantasy” stuff.
So, there you have it. My two cents on this Deebo Samuel and Rashid Shaheed situation. Take it or leave it. I’m just an old woman, but I’ve seen a lot of football in my day, and I know what I see. And right now, I see Deebo ain’t doin’ so hot, and Shaheed might be worth a shot. That’s all there is to it. Now, go on and enjoy your football game, and don’t get too worked up about it. It’s just a game, after all.
