Alright, alright, let me tell ya’ll somethin’ ’bout this… uh… Dragon Ball F1, yeah, that’s what the young’uns call it. Heard ’bout it from my grandson, the one always glued to that there screen. Says it’s a big deal, this Dragon Ball and them fast cars, like, really fast.
Now, I don’t know much ’bout no cartoons or fancy races, but from what I gather, this Goku fella, the one with the spiky hair, he’s supposed to be some kinda strong fighter. Stronger than my old mule, Bessie, I reckon. And he’s ditchin’ some fightin’ tournament, a big one they say, for a chance to see these fast cars go zoom-zoom. Imagine that! Leavin’ a good brawl for some shiny metal on wheels.
- Goku sounds like a wild one, always lookin’ for somethin’ new. Reminds me of my Billy, always chasin’ after them stray cats.
- These cars, they call ’em F1, somethin’ Grand Prix, sounds mighty important. Like them fancy horse races the rich folks go to.
My grandson showed me some pictures, drawings they call ’em. Said some fella named Ah-kee-ra Tor-ree-yah-ma, somethin’ like that, drew ’em. This fella, he liked drawin’ cars, lots of ’em. Even drew one in this Dragon Ball thing, during some Android story. My grandson said this Ah-kee-ra guy, he even met a real F1 driver once, way back when. A fella named Air-ton Sen-na. Imagine that! A car guy and a cartoon guy meetin’ up. Must’ve been somethin’ to see.
Now, these F1 cars, they ain’t like my old pickup truck, that’s for sure. They got all sorts of sponsors, like them signs they put on the sides of race cars. My grandson was goin’ on and on about this sponsor and that, like it was the most important thing in the world. Said some of them sponsors are, what he call “wacky” and “weird”. I tell you what, back in my days, a sponsor was just the fella who owned the general store, and he’d put his name on our local baseball team shirts. That was it. These F1 fellas, they got sponsors for everything, even energy drinks and fancy watches.
Then there’s these drivers, the fellas who actually drive the cars. My grandson said they talk to themselves, like they’re crazy or somethin’. Imagine that, drivin’ at a hundred miles an hour and talkin’ to yourself! He said one fella, Lewis, he’s always doubtin’ himself, and another one, Vettel, he’s lookin’ at other cars all the time. Sounds like a whole lotta fuss to me. When I drove my old pickup, I just put my foot on the gas and went. No time for talkin’ or lookin’ around, just gotta get where you’re goin’. Times sure have changed, ain’t they?
So, this Dragon Ball F1 thing, it’s a mix of fightin’ and racin’, I guess. Goku and his pals probably usin’ their super speed and whatnot to keep up with them fast cars. Maybe they’ll even race the cars themselves, who knows? My grandson said somethin’ about the car designs, said this Ah-kee-ra fella, he did a good job on them. Said somethin’ ’bout a “perfect cell” being the best. Sounded kinda creepy to me, but hey, to each their own, I always say. To me, a good car is one that gets you from point A to point B without breakin’ down. And If that Ah-kee-ra fella liked cars, he must have been a good man. Reminds me of my own pa, always tinker’in with his old tractor.
Anyways, that’s all I know ’bout this Dragon Ball F1. Seems like a lot of noise and speed to me, but if it makes the young’uns happy, then I guess it’s alright. They got their cartoons and their fast cars, and I got my porch swing and my iced tea. That’s enough for this old lady. Just hope Goku doesn’t go too fast he can’t come back to his family. Family is important, it is.
