Well, howdy there! Let’s jaw about them college football TV ratings, week 2, you know, the kind of stuff that gets folks hootin’ and hollerin’ ’round the TV.
College Football on TV: Who’s Watchin’ What Now?
Now, I hear tell ABC, yeah, that TV channel, they’re like the king of the hill when it comes to college football. Folks watched a whole heap of football on there, somethin’ like 58 billion minutes! That’s a whole lotta minutes, let me tell ya. More than any other channel, they say. Must be showin’ some good games, I reckon.
- ABC is the Top Dog: Like I said, ABC, they’re the big cheese when it comes to college football on TV. They got the most folks watchin’, seems like.
- Big Games, Big Ratings: When them big teams play, like that Georgia and Texas game, everybody and their brother tunes in. Heard that game had millions watchin’, even if it was a little less than last year.
But it ain’t just ABC, y’know. FOX, they got some games too. And they had a good week, seein’ as Ohio State won their game. Folks like watchin’ winners, that’s for sure.
Now, these big football leagues, like the SEC and the Big Ten, they’re where the real action is at. They got the best teams, most of the time, and that means more folks watchin’ on TV. More eyeballs on the screen, more money for them TV fellas, I guess. It’s all a big business, you see.
Them SEC fellas, they’re popular
I heard tell, and this is somethin’, that eight outta ten teams that get watched the most are from the SEC. That’s a whole bunch! Georgia, they’re number one. Guess folks like watchin’ them play. Makes sense, they’re pretty good. But even when a team gets beat real bad, like that Cumberland College team a long time ago, folks still talk about it. Heard they lost 222 to nothin’! Can you imagine? That’s gotta be somethin’ to see, even if it’s just to say you saw it.
More Than Just One Channel
It ain’t just ABC and FOX, though. There’s all sorts of channels showin’ games – ESPN, NBC, all them fellas. And when you add it all up, folks watched over 154 billion minutes of football this season! That’s enough football to make your head spin, I tell ya.
Football is King
Now, I hear the NFL, that’s the pro football, they get even more folks watchin’. But college football, that’s somethin’ special. You got the young fellas, playin’ their hearts out, tryin’ to make a name for themselves. And the fans, they’re just as rowdy and passionate as can be. Makes for good TV, that’s for sure.
So, what’d we learn?
Well, we learned that ABC’s the big cheese for college football, the SEC teams get watched a whole bunch, and a whole lotta folks watch college football on TV. And that’s just the way it is, and the way it’s probably gonna stay, long as them boys keep on playin’ and them TV fellas keep on showin’ the games. And that’s all there is to it, I reckon. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go see if there’s any pie left.
Week 2 and Beyond: What to Expect
Week 2 is important, yeah, but it’s just the start. There’s a whole season of football to watch, and you can bet them TV ratings are gonna be jumpin’ up and down all year long. The better the games, the more folks watch. And the more folks watch, the more them TV fellas smile. That’s just how it works, see?
So next time you’re flippin’ through the channels and you see a college football game on, you’ll know a little somethin’ about them TV ratings. You’ll know who’s watchin’, and why. And maybe, just maybe, you’ll sit down and watch a game yourself. It ain’t a bad way to spend an afternoon, I tell ya. Especially if you got some good snacks.
