Well, let me tell ya somethin’ about them Skysteel tools in that Final Fantasy 14 game. My grandson, he plays it all the time, and I see him clickin’ and clackin’ on that computer, so I asked him what’s all the fuss about. He told me a bit, and I reckon I can explain it to ya like I understand it. Don’t expect no fancy words, though, ’cause I ain’t got none of them.
So, these here Skysteel tools, they’re like… well, they’re like super-duper versions of the regular tools you use in the game. You know, for makin’ stuff and gatherin’ stuff. Like, if you’re a blacksmith, you get a real fancy hammer. If you’re a fisher, you get a rod that’ll catch them fishies real good. My grandson says they’re kinda like the “relics” for craftin’ and gatherin’. Whatever that means.
Now, gettin’ these tools ain’t no walk in the park, mind you. First off, you gotta have a Dragonsung tool, that’s what my grandson said. Sounds like a fancy name for an old tool to me. But you need it, or you ain’t goin’ nowhere. Then, you gotta go do some quests. My grandson was grumbling about somethin’ called “Mislaid Plans”. Sounds like he lost somethin’ important.
Anyways, after you finish that quest, you get yourself a Skysteel Prototype Coffer. That’s just a fancy box, mind ya. You open it up, and poof! You get a tool. But it ain’t the final tool yet, no sirree. It’s just the start.
Then, there’s this fella named Denys. He’s hangin’ around the Skysteel Factory. You gotta go talk to him. He’s the one who gives you more tools and helps you make ‘em better. My grandson said he’s at X:8.0 Y:10.0. Sounds like gibberish to me, but the boy seems to know where he’s at.
- Blacksmith, Armorsmith, Goldsmith, Carpenter, and Weaver tools, them are easy to level up if you got the money or if you’re already good at diggin’ stuff up or choppin’ wood. That’s what my grandson says anyways. He’s always complainin’ about not havin’ enough Gil, whatever that is. Sounds like money to me.
- But if you’re a fisher, well, that’s a whole ‘nother story. You gotta go catch a whole mess of fish. My grandson said somethin’ about 50 to 100 collectable fish, and depending on how good they are, you get these “Oddly Delicate Parts.” You need 200 of them just for the rod and another 200 for the reel. Sounds like a lot of fishin’ to me. And you need ‘em for the Fishing Rod parts and the Fishing Reel Parts. Makes sense, I guess.
So, you keep doin’ this stuff, over and over, gatherin’ things, makin’ things, and talkin’ to that Denys fella. And slowly, your tool gets better and better. It’s like, you start with a regular ol’ hammer, and then you make it shiny and strong and all that. My grandson said it takes a while, but it’s worth it in the end.
And that’s pretty much all there is to it, far as I can tell. You get a tool, you make it better, and you use it to make more stuff and gather more stuff. It’s like workin’ on the farm, only it’s in a video game. And there ain’t no real dirt or sweat, thank goodness. My grandson sure spends a lot of time on it though, makes me wonder if it’s really worth all that fuss. But he seems to like it, so I guess it’s alright.
In summary, gettin’ them Skysteel tools is a bit of a process, but if you want the best tools for craftin’ and gatherin’, you gotta put in the work. You need a Dragonsung tool, do some quests, get a Skysteel Prototype Coffer, then work with that Denys fella at the Skysteel Factory. Different jobs have different ways to upgrade, but it all comes down to gatherin’ and makin’ stuff. It ain’t simple, but it ain’t rocket science neither.
