Alright, let’s talk about them AF1 shoes with the stars, you know, the ones the youngsters are all crazy about. I see ’em everywhere, these sneakers with all sorts of shiny stuff on ’em. Makes an old woman like me scratch my head, but hey, if they like it, who am I to judge?
First off, what’s an “AF1” anyway? Sounds like somethin’ outta space, like a rocket or somethin’. Turns out, it’s just some kinda fancy shoe. And now they got stars on ’em? Lord have mercy. Back in my day, shoes were just shoes. You wore ’em to work, you wore ’em to church, and that was that. No stars, no nothin’. Just plain old leather, or maybe canvas if you were lucky.
But these AF1s, they’re somethin’ else. I saw a picture once, all shiny and white, and they had these little star shapes cut out. Looked like someone took a cookie cutter to ’em! Folks are callin’ ’em “Star Perfs” or somethin’. And they ain’t cheap, let me tell you. Heard tell they can cost a pretty penny. Seems like a waste of money to me, but what do I know? I’d rather spend my money on a good meal and a warm blanket, that’s for sure.
- Different Kinds of AF1s: Now, from what I gather, there’s all sorts of these AF1s. Some are low, some are high, some are in-between. Kinda like those fancy cars, I guess. Some are plain white, some are all colors of the rainbow. And then there’s those shiny ones, like they dipped ’em in glitter or somethin’. I even heard tell of some that change color in the light! Can you believe that? Shoes that change color! What will they think of next?
- The “Nod to the Stars” Ones: Then there’s these other ones, called “Nod to the Stars” or some such nonsense. They got stars on ’em too, but these ones are different. Not cut out, but, like, printed on or sewed on or somethin’. They look kinda fancy, I guess, but still, they’re just shoes. I reckon some folks like to show off, and these shoes, well, they sure do the trick. They make you stand out in a crowd, that’s for sure.
- Cleanin’ Them Shoes: And the young folks, they’re always fussin’ over keepin’ ‘em clean. I saw one boy scrubbin’ his shoes with a toothbrush! Can you imagine? A toothbrush! When I was young, you wore your shoes ’til they fell apart, and then you got a new pair. No fancy cleanin’ or nothin’. But these AF1s, they’re like a prized possession or somethin’. Folks treat ‘em better than they treat their own family, I swear. I even heard of folks fixin’ ’em up with plaster when they get worn out. Imagine that! Plaster on a shoe! Kids these days…
I heard tell these AF1 shoes been around since the eighties. That’s a long time ago, even for an old lady like me. They started out as basketball shoes, would you believe it? Big ol’ clunky things for runnin’ and jumpin’. Now they’re fashion, I guess. Funny how things change. One minute somethin’s for workin’, the next minute it’s for showin’ off.
So, yeah, that’s what I know about these AF1 shoes with stars. Not much, I admit, but enough to know they’re a big deal to some folks. Me? I’ll stick to my comfy old slippers, thank you very much. They might not be fancy, and they sure don’t have no stars on ‘em, but they keep my feet warm and that’s all that matters to me. But hey, if you like them shoes, you go right ahead and wear ’em. Just don’t expect me to understand it!
In short, these AF1 with stars shoes are a big thing. Lots of different kinds, lots of different prices, and lots of different folks wearin’ ’em. They got stars on ’em, cut out or printed on, and folks seem to love ’em. Me? I’ll stick to my slippers. But you do you, I always say. Life’s too short to worry about what other folks think, especially when it comes to shoes.
