Alright, let’s talk about this… uh… Norcom football, yeah? That’s what the young’uns told me to gab about. So, here we go.
Norcom High School Football, That’s the Ticket!
First off, them Norcom Greyhounds, they got a football team. And lemme tell ya, they play games! See, they got this schedule, tells ya who they’re gonna be smackin’ around, or gettin’ smacked around by, I guess. It’s got the dates and times and all that fancy stuff. You can find it, I hear, on somethin’ called “on three com.” Sounds like a street corner, but the kids say it’s on the internet. Who knows these days?
- They play other high schools, see? Like, uh… Newport News Heritage, that’s one.
- And Norview too. That sounds like a big game, they had it at home, first home game of the season, I think.
Now, last year, or maybe it was the year before, time flies when you’re gettin’ old, they did pretty good. Six wins, four losses, somethin’ like that. Got ’em into the playoffs, number two seed. That’s good, right? Means they’re tough, I reckon.
This year’s schedule, well, I ain’t memorized it or nothin’. But it’s out there, somewhere on that “on three com” thingy. You wanna know, you go look it up. They play all sorts of folks. Kids from other towns, other schools.
Gettin’ the Scores and Watchin’ the Games
And if you’re one of them fancy folks who likes to keep track of scores and all, well, they got that too. You can find out who won, who lost, how many points they scored… all that jazz. Seems like there’s a lot of ways to follow these games. You got this live-streamin’ thing now, so you can watch it on your phone or your computer, or whatever. I don’t get it, but the young’uns seem to like it.
They got this place, London Boulevard in Portsmouth, that’s where the school is, 1801 I think they said. That’s where the magic happens, I guess. That’s where they run around and throw that ball and knock each other down. Sounds like a hoot, but my old bones ain’t up for that kind of excitement no more.
High School Football, Big Deal Around Here
Seems like high school football is a big deal around here. People get all worked up about it. They got rankings and stats and all sorts of things. They even got this fella, Aaron Hendricks, writin’ about it. He keeps track of all the scores and who’s doin’ what. Must be important, I guess.
Highlights and Pictures, if You’re into That
And if you’re one of them visual types, they got pictures and videos too. Highlights, they call ’em. The best parts of the game, I reckon. You can see ’em runnin’ and jumpin’ and catchin’ that ball. It’s all pretty fancy, if you ask me.
So, that’s the lowdown on Norcom football, as best as I can tell ya. They play games, they got a schedule, you can find the scores, you can watch ’em online, and they got pictures and videos. What more could ya want? Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go make some supper. All this talkin’ about football makes a body hungry.
