Alright, alright, let me tell ya’ll about this… what’s it called? FF14 troll, yeah, that’s it. My grandson, that city boy, he plays this thing all day long. I peeked in once, and lemme tell ya, it’s a whole lotta fuss about nothin’. But he keeps yellin’ about these “trolls,” so I figured I’d give it a go, explain it like I see it.
So, from what I gather, these trolls in FF14, they ain’t like the trolls in them fairy tales, you know? Not the ones under bridges. These trolls are just… people. Yep, plain ol’ people bein’ annoying, like flies at a picnic.
- Tank Trouble: My grandson was screamin’ about a “tank” runnin’ into a big crowd and gettin’ everyone killed. Said the tank was doin’ it on purpose! Now, I ain’t no gamer, but that sounds dumb as a box of rocks. Why would ya wanna get your whole team killed? That’s like deliberately steppin’ on your own toes. Sounds like a darn fool to me. This kinda troll, they just wanna ruin the fun for everyone else. They get their kicks from watchin’ other folks get mad.
- Confused Critters: Then there’s this “confusion” thing. Makes your character all dizzy and whackin’ your own friends. Heard it can be funny, but mostly it just sounds like a big mess. Like tryin’ to herd chickens, only the chickens are hittin’ each other with sticks. This confusion, that sounds like somethin’ the game does, not people bein’ mean on purpose.
- Silly Monsters: And get this, there are these weird creatures, “ambystoma” or somethin’. My grandson was laughin’ at them, said they were funny-lookin’. Seems like the game designers put in some silly stuff just for kicks. Now, that ain’t trollin’, that’s just bein’ goofy. Ain’t nothin’ wrong with a little goofiness now and then. It’s like puttin’ a funny hat on a scarecrow, just for laughs.
So, you got different kinds of “trolls,” see? Some are mean-spirited, some are just the game bein’ silly, and some… well, some are just folks bein’ folks. You know, like that time old man Jenkins put a bucket of water on top of his door for the mailman? Was that trollin’? Maybe. Was it funny? Depends on who ya ask.
My grandson, he gets all worked up about it. Says it ruins the game, makes him wanna throw his fancy computin’ machine out the window. I tell him, “Boy, calm down. It’s just a game. Ain’t nothin’ worth gettin’ your britches in a twist over.” But he don’t listen, young folks these days, always gotta be so serious.
From what I can tell, there are players who do things to be funny, and then there are folks who just want to watch the world burn in the game. Seems like it’s just a part of that online world. Like in real life, some folks are nice, some ain’t. Same thing in them games, I reckon. You gotta learn to deal with all kinds, ain’t no gettin’ around it.
He was also complainin’ about guides, said he was lookin’ for somethin’ more than just guides. Said he’s been playin’ for half a year and just got to somethin’ called “Endwalker”. Honestly, I don’t understand a lick of it. Sounds like a long time to be doin’ somethin’ that makes you so angry. It’s like milkin’ a cow that keeps kickin’ ya. You’d think he’d find a different cow or just give up on the milk altogether.
Then there’s the mounts. He was showin’ me this big, ugly troll-lookin’ thing he got to ride. Said it was called a “gentle giant” but looked more like a hairy beast to me. He seemed happy about it though, so who am I to judge? It’s like havin’ a mule, some folks like ‘em, some don’t. That troll mount business, I don’t get it. Why you wanna ride somethin’ so ugly? But I guess, to each their own, like they say. If he wants to ride a hairy beast, let him ride a hairy beast. Ain’t hurtin’ nobody.
So, that’s the long and short of it, from what I can understand. FF14 trolls, they’re a mixed bag. Some funny, some mean, some just plain weird. But in the end, it’s just a game, right? Ain’t worth losin’ your sleep over. Just like life, you gotta take the good with the bad, the silly with the serious, and the trolls with the… well, whatever the opposite of a troll is. Nice people, I guess. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go check on my chickens, they’re probably gettin’ into somethin’ they shouldn’t.
