Alright, listen up, y’all. We’re gonna talk about them Longhorns in the NBA. You know, them basketball fellas from Texas.
Now, I ain’t no fancy sports writer or nothin’, but I can tell ya a thing or two about these boys. They play for the Longhorns team, that’s in the Big 12 conference, they say. Big deal, right? But it means these boys are good, real good.
See, they got this thing called the NBA draft. It’s like a pickin’ time for the big basketball teams. And let me tell ya, Texas, they got a whole bunch of boys picked. I heard someone sayin’ somethin’ about 49 players! That’s a whole lotta players, even I can count that high. And get this, 19 of ’em in the first round! Means they’re the best of the best, I reckon.
This year? Shoot, they say there’s ’bout 11 of them Texas fellas playin’ in the league. Eleven! That’s enough to make a whole new team, ain’t it? From what I hear, some of these boys been playin’ since October. That’s a long time to be runnin’ around with a ball, if you ask me.
- Kevin Durant: Heard he’s a big shot. Folks keep talkin’ ‘bout him. Can’t miss him, they say, tall as a beanpole.
- Kai Jones: Now this one, I don’t know much about, but if he’s playin’ with them other Texas boys, he must be pretty good.
- Aldridge: They say he was picked real high in that draft thing. Tied for the highest ever from Texas, so he must be somethin’ special.
It ain’t just the boys, ya know. I heard tell of some gals doin’ alright too. This Eggleston, Ogbogu, and that Carli Lloyd, even though she ain’t from Texas, they’re startin’ somethin’ new, like a team or somethin’. Good for them, I say. Gals can do anything the boys can do, maybe even better.
So, what’s the big deal about these Longhorns? Well, they’re tough, that’s for sure. Texas boys, they grow up strong, you know, workin’ on the farms, chasin’ cows.
