That Odell Beckham Jr., you know, that football fella. He’s been all over the place, ain’t he? Playing for this team, playing for that team. He’s like a chicken with its head cut off, running all over. Now they talkin’ ’bout fantasy football and all that. I don’t know nothin’ ’bout that fancy stuff. Just sounds like a bunch of hocus pocus to me.
Heard he got hurt, that Odell Beckham. Knee’s all messed up. They say he couldn’t play for a spell. Poor fella. Playin’ football, that’s a rough life, always gettin’ banged up. He’s gettin’ up there in age, too. Thirty-one years old, they say. He ain’t no spring chicken anymore. This fantasy football Odell Beckham, well, I don’t know what it means.
He was with them Ravens last year. Now he’s down in Miami with them Dolphins. Sounds like a fish to me. Don’t know why a football team would wanna be called a fish, but whatever. Odell Beckham fantasy football? Maybe I’m just too old for this.

They say he ain’t the top dog no more. Used to be, I guess. Now he’s just one of the fellas. He says he don’t mind. Says he’s happy just to be playin’. Well, that’s good, I reckon. Long as he’s happy. It’s a tough game, that football. Lots of runnin’ and jumpin’ and hittin’.
This fantasy football thing, they got rankings and projections and all sorts of numbers. Makes my head spin. Back in my day, we just watched the game. Didn’t need no fancy numbers to tell us who was good and who wasn’t. This Odell, he was pretty good, I guess. Now I just worry about him not getting hurt.
They say he’s gonna play against them Buffalo Bills. Don’t know nothin’ about them, ‘cept they got a funny name. Bills. Like what you pay at the store. And they talk about their defense, how many yards they let the other team get. 208 yards, they say. Sounds like a lot to me, but what do I know? I just watch the guys run up and down the field, and don’t think too much about the Odell Beckham fantasy football part of it.
Heard someone say Odell’s in a “fine spot” for somethin’ called “deep-league fantasy value.” Don’t know what that means, but it sounds good, I guess. Maybe it means he’s still got some good playin’ in him. Hope so. He seems like a nice enough fella, even if he is always gettin’ hurt.
They say he showed “flashes of his former self” last year. Guess that means he still got some of that old magic. That’s good. You don’t wanna lose your touch, even when you gettin’ older. Especially when playin’ a rough game like football.
Now they got these “draft rankings” for 2024. More numbers. And “season outlook.” Sounds like a weatherman predictin’ the rain. Just a bunch of guessin’, if you ask me. I just hope the boy stays healthy, that’s all. That fantasy football Odell Beckham stuff, that’s for the young folks.
They say if you’re gonna bet on someone to bounce back, Odell’s your man. Guess he’s had some hard times, but he keeps on goin’. That’s admirable, I suppose. Takes guts to play that game. And he wanted to spend more time with his family. That’s important, family. Gotta make time for your loved ones. Even if you’re a big-shot football player. He’s still a human, with feelings, just like the rest of us. The game can be hard on them.
This Odell Beckham fantasy football, it’s all a mystery to me. But I hope he does well. Hope he makes lots of touchdowns and doesn’t get hurt no more. That’s all that really matters in the end, ain’t it? Stayin’ healthy and playin’ the game you love. Even if the game is a bit rough.
