Now, they got this thing called “varsity football.” I ain’t exactly sure what that means, but it sounds important. Sounds like them older boys playin’. Luhi Lions Football Schedule 2024
Okay, so this year, 2024, they callin’ them the Luhi Lions. Don’t ask me why, maybe they roar a lot or somethin’. Anyways, they got a schedule all set up, tellin’ ya when and where they playin’. And they got somethin’ special goin’ on for each home game, they want ya to “check it out.” I reckon it’s like a party or somethin’, with food and games and such. Go Lions, they say. Lions this, Lions that. Always gotta be yellin’ about somethin’, them youngsters.
- Home Games: They got a bunch of games right there at Luhi, so ya don’t gotta go far. And they always got somethin’ extra goin’ on at them home games, so it’s a good time to go watch.
- Away Games: Then they gotta go travelin’ to other places to play. Don’t know why they can’t just stay put, but I guess that’s how it is.
- Playoffs: And if they do good, they get to be in somethin’ called the “playoffs.” That’s when the best teams play each other, like a big ol’ tournament. They got brackets and rankings and all sorts of fancy stuff. They even keep track of all the “stats” – how many times they run and throw the ball, I guess. It’s all a bit much for me, but some folks eat it up.
They got this school, Long Island Lutheran Middle and High School, and they got all sorts of sports goin’ on. They call it “Crusader Athletics.” Sounds kinda serious, don’t it? They got a website and everything, so ya can look up all the schedules and stuff. They even got pictures and videos. It’s like a whole ‘nother world on that there computer.
They’re always talkin’ about “uniting on the turf,” which I guess means playin’ together on the field. And they sayin’ somethin’ about “forging bonds that last a lifetime.” Sounds like a bunch of mushy stuff to me, but I guess it’s important to them kids. They always tryin’ to get ya to come watch, tellin’ ya to “see for yourself” and “schedule a tour.” Like I got nothin’ better to do than watch a bunch of boys runnin’ around.
Last fall, they say it was “one for the books.” That means it was really good, I guess. Them athletes and coaches and families, they all had a grand ol’ time. They got pictures and videos all over the place, showin’ them playin’ and celebratin’. It’s like they won the lottery or somethin’. But hey, if they happy, I’m happy for ‘em.
