Alright, let’s talk about these NHL team colors, you know, the colors them hockey fellas wear. I ain’t no fancy designer or nothin’, but even I know colors matter. You gotta have good colors, or else your team looks like a bunch of… well, you know.
First off, we got them Calgary Flames. Their colors? Red, yellow, and white. Red like a good tomato, yellow like the sun on a hot day, and white like… well, like snow, I guess. They use this #D2001C for the red, #FAAF19 for the yeller, and #FFFFFF for the white. Fancy numbers, huh? Don’t ask me what they mean, I just know they’re important for them computer folks and printin’ stuff.
Then there’s the Montreal Canadiens. Them fellas, they wear red and blue. Red again, but a different kind, I reckon. And blue, like the sky… sometimes. Their red is #AF1E2D and the blue is #192168. See? More fancy numbers! It’s all about mixin’ and matchin’, I hear. Gotta make sure them colors look good together, or else it’s a mess.
Now, the Quebec Nordiques, they used to be around. They had red and blue too, but different from the Canadiens. Their red was somethin’ like (0, 95, 100, 0) and the blue was (99, 50, 0, 0). These numbers are different, somethin’ about CMYK. I don’t get it, but it’s gotta do with printin’, I think. Like when you print them flyers for the church bake sale.
- Red: Lots of teams like red, ain’t it? Must be a tough color, makes you look strong, I guess.
- Blue: Blue is nice, calm and cool, like a glass of water on a summer day.
- Yellow: Yellow’s bright, makes you stand out. But too much and you look like a banana.
- White: White is clean, fresh. Goes with everything, or so they say.
Some folks, they go on and on about RGB, HEX, and CMYK. Sounds like a bunch of gibberish to me, but it’s important if you wanna get them colors just right. RGB is for them computer screens, HEX is for… well, I dunno, more computer stuff, and CMYK is for printin’. That’s all I know, and that’s probably more than I need to know.
Anyways, you got all sorts of colors out there. Green, orange, black, even purple sometimes. Each team picks their colors, and them colors become kinda like their… well, their mark. You see them colors, and you know who you’re lookin’ at. Like seein’ your neighbor’s cow in the pasture, you just know it’s theirs.
And them logos, they gotta match the colors too. You can’t have a blue logo with green colors, that just ain’t right. It’s like wearin’ stripes with polka dots. Just don’t do it. Them logo fellas, they spend a lot of time thinkin’ about this stuff, I bet. More time than I spend thinkin’ about what to make for supper, that’s for sure.
So, there you have it. A whole bunch of talk about colors, and numbers, and logos. It’s more complicated than I thought, but I guess it’s important. After all, you want your team to look good, right? You want them to stand out, to be… well, to be somethin’ special. And good colors, that’s part of it, I reckon. Just like a good coat of paint on a barn, makes it look new and strong. So next time you watch a hockey game, pay attention to them colors. They tell you somethin’ about the team, even if you don’t know them fancy numbers.
