So, the other day, I decided to check out some soccer shops in Rockville Centre. I’m not a huge soccer player myself, but my nephew is crazy about it, and his birthday is coming up. I figured a new jersey or some gear would be a perfect gift.
I started my quest by looking up some places online. I found a few options, but Soccer Direct and Soccer Station seemed to be the most promising ones. They both showed up on a Yelp list of the top 10 soccer stores in Rockville Centre, so I figured they were worth a shot.
Soccer Station
First, I headed over to Soccer Station. It’s located at 189 Sunrise Hwy, pretty easy to find. I walked in and was immediately greeted by a ton of soccer stuff. Jerseys, balls, cleats, you name it. They even had club gear, which I thought was pretty cool. I browsed around for a bit, checking out the different jerseys and trying to remember which team my nephew supports. The staff was friendly and helpful. I asked one guy for help finding my nephew’s team gear and he immediately got me to right position and size. Spent some time there and finally found what I was looking for.
Soccer Direct
After Soccer Station, I drove to Soccer Direct, which is also on Sunrise Hwy. The vibe there was pretty similar – lots of soccer gear, friendly staff, the whole nine yards. They had a wide selection of authentic stuff, which is always good. I spent some time looking around. It seems Soccer Direct has more things to offer. I found they have a huge selection of cleats, different brands and styles. I remembered my nephew complained about his old cleats not fitting well last time we talked on the phone. Then I picked a pair for him as well.
Overall, I had a pretty good experience exploring the soccer shops in Rockville Centre. Both Soccer Station and Soccer Direct had a great selection of gear, and the staff at both places were helpful. I ended up getting a jersey and a pair of cleats from those two shops for my nephew, and I think he’s gonna love them. If you’re in Rockville Centre and need soccer gear, I’d definitely recommend checking out those two places.
Oh, and I also noticed a place called LI Outdoorsman nearby. I didn’t go in, but it looked like they had a bunch of other sporting goods, so that might be worth checking out if you’re into other sports.
That’s about it for my soccer shop adventure. It was a successful mission, and now I’ve got a great birthday present for my nephew.
