So, I wanted to get my kids involved in something active and fun, and soccer seemed like a good fit. I heard about the Waupun Youth Soccer Association and figured, why not? Seemed like a decent program, so we decided to give it a shot.
First things first, I had to register the little ones. They got this new thing called PlayMetrics. Gone are the days of Demosphere, I guess. Anyway, you gotta make a new account on this PlayMetrics thing, which was a bit of a pain, but manageable.
They had a few days for registration in person. Like, one in April on a Tuesday evening, then another on a Saturday, and another one in May. I marked the dates on my calendar. We went on April 17th, from 6 PM to 8 PM. It was pretty straightforward. Filled out some forms, paid the fees, and boom, kids were in. They even take kids starting from 4k up to 9th grade, so there’s a spot for just about everyone.
The whole idea behind this Waupun Youth Soccer thing is to make sure the kids have a good time while learning. They got different levels, starting from the little ones in the Tot Leagues all the way up to the U-14 Leagues.
Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it’s been a good experience so far. The kids are having a blast, and it’s nice to see them running around and getting some exercise. Plus, it’s a good way for them to learn teamwork and make some friends along the way.
The coaches seem to know their stuff, and they’re pretty good with the kids. They keep it fun but also make sure the kids are learning the basics of the game. It’s not super competitive, which is good for the younger ones. They focus on having a positive learning environment, which I appreciate.
- Registration Dates I Noted:
- Tuesday, April 17, 6 PM – 8 PM
- Saturday, April 28, 10 AM – 1 PM
- Friday, May 11 (I didn’t note the time for this one)
It’s a good way to get the kids out of the house and doing something active. I’d say it’s worth checking out if you’re in the Waupun area and have kids interested in soccer.
All in all, it’s been a positive experience for us. The kids are enjoying it, and I’m happy they’re getting involved in something they like.
What I Learned:
- Waupun Youth Soccer uses PlayMetrics for registration, not Demosphere.
- Registration was held on specific dates in April and May.
- The program is for kids from 4k to 9th grade.
- Focus is on creating a positive and fun learning environment.
