Then I stumbled upon some court stuff. It said Higgins was indicted by a grand jury in Salem County. And get this – his blood alcohol level was 0.087, above the legal limit. Plus, he failed a sobriety test. That’s not looking good for him. I mean, how much did he have to drink?

Kept digging, and I found out about a detention hearing. The prosecutor, Jonathan Flynn, mentioned that Higgins had like five or six beers before he hit the brothers on their bikes. Five or six beers! I mean, come on, I have done it before, and that’s way too much to be driving.
The Charges
- The guy’s facing some serious charges. Reckless vehicular homicide and aggravated manslaughter. Not just a slap on the wrist. He could be in some deep trouble here.
- They’re saying he’s charged with two counts of second-degree vehicular homicide. That’s for both Johnny and Matthew Gaudreau. It’s just so sad, you know?

So, basically, I spent a good chunk of my day just piecing together all this information. It’s one of those things where the more you look, the more messed up it gets. This Sean Higgins guy, he’s not just some drunk driver. He’s in the military, and he made a terrible decision that cost two people their lives.
