Alright, so today I’m gonna tell you about my little adventure with the “charged” clue in the NYT crossword. You know, the one that’s been bugging me for a while.
It all started a few months back, May 4th to be exact. I was doing my usual thing, chilling with the crossword, when I hit a wall. “Charged” was the clue, and let me tell you, my brain was not having it. I tried all sorts of words, but nothing seemed to fit. It was like trying to fit a square peg into a round hole.
So, I did what any normal person would do – I started digging around. I found out that this particular clue had shown up before, even back on May 1st. It was like a recurring nightmare! I went through some forums, and some folks were saying it had two answers. I thought, “Alright, let’s crack this nut.”
Then I stumbled upon this other tidbit – apparently, there was another one on July 10, 2022, and this time it had, get this, ten possible answers! Ten! My head was spinning at this point. It felt like I was in one of those detective movies, piecing together clues from different crime scenes.
I was determined, though. I started looking at the puzzle like a hawk. I noticed that the ends of some other clues – numbers 18, 23, 38, and 51 – could all make sense together. It was like a lightbulb moment. Suddenly, everything started to click.
I kept at it, day after day. I even found this neat tool online, a crossword solver. You just pop in the clue or the letters you already have, and it spits out some possibilities. Super handy. But even with that, it wasn’t a walk in the park.
Finally, after all that hustle, I cracked it. The feeling was amazing! It was like, “Yes! I did it!” I checked my answers against the solutions they post every day, and bam, I was right.
So yeah, that’s my story with the “charged” crossword clue. A real brain teaser, but so satisfying to solve. If you’re ever stuck on a crossword, just remember my story. Keep digging, keep trying, and don’t give up. You’ll get there!
