So, I’ve been messing around with this crossword thing, and let me tell you, it’s been a trip. Today’s brain teaser was “throws in crossword.” Sounds simple, right? Well, not so much.
First, I started googling like crazy, trying to find some hints or whatever. I typed in “throws in crossword” and hit enter. Pages and pages of stuff popped up. I scrolled through a bunch of them, trying to make sense of it all.
- “Don’t be afraid to guess.” Okay, that’s helpful, I guess.
- “Use a thesaurus.” I have one of those somewhere…
- “Don’t be afraid to ask for help.” That’s what I’m doing, internet!
I spent a good chunk of time reading through all these tips and tricks. Some sites listed a bunch of answers, like 30 or even 40 possible solutions. They talked about different puzzles, like the NY Times crossword, and some other ones I’d never even heard of.
Then I stumbled upon some specific clues. One said something like, “Island that lends its name to a style of pants.” And the answer was “capri.” Alright, that’s kind of clever, I thought. Another clue was “Did some chauffeuring,” and the answer was “drove.” These clues were starting to make a bit more sense.
After digging around some more, I finally found what I was looking for. There was this one site that listed “Throws in” as a clue, and it said it was from some crossword puzzle dated January 24, 2024. Finally, I was getting somewhere!
It turns out, there are a bunch of different answers for this clue, depending on the specific puzzle. But after all this searching and reading, I think I have a better understanding of how these crossword things work. You gotta use your brain, look for patterns, and sometimes, just take a wild guess.
So, yeah, that was my adventure with “throws in crossword.” It was frustrating at times, but I learned a lot. And who knows, maybe I’ll actually be able to finish one of these puzzles someday. We’ll see.
