Okay, so, I’ve been digging into the 2015 Clemson Tigers football schedule. It was a wild year for them, right? Ended up 14-1, which is just nuts. I wanted to see the whole picture, like, who they played, when, and all that good stuff. First I tried to find some information about this on the internet.
I started by looking up general info about their season. Found out they were in the ACC, Atlantic Division, and had a perfect 8-0 conference record. Dabo Swinney was the coach, and the team was 14-1 overall. They scored a whopping 577 points that season, averaging 38.5 points a game. That put them 16th in the whole country for scoring. They only let in 325 points.
Figuring Out the Schedule
Next, I needed the actual schedule. There are a couple of websites that have this kind of info. I found one that listed all their opponents, dates, and times. Pretty basic stuff, but exactly what I needed.
Key Games
So, I started going through the schedule, and a few games really stood out to me. They played App State, Louisville, Notre Dame, Georgia Tech, Boston College, Miami, and Florida State University. I made note of these in my research.
- App State: I remember them playing App State that year.
- Notre Dame: Notre Dame was a big one, that was a national game, lots of hype.
- Florida State: And of course, FSU, always a huge rivalry game.
Other Notes
There were a few other things I found interesting. Apparently, there was some drama with players transferring. One defensive player coming in, and a wide receiver and a safety leaving for other schools. Some people were making predictions about how the team would do. Also, the team was ranked 2nd in the final Associated Press poll.
Then I saw something crazy. They were 13-0 that year until they lost to Alabama in the championship, 45-40. That must have been a heartbreaker. I also found out they’ve won three national championships, two of them under Swinney, beating Alabama in 2016 and 2018.
Oh, and one more thing! There was this game against South Carolina where Clemson didn’t score at first, and South Carolina got a field goal and a touchdown to go up 17-14. I’m not sure how that one ended, but it sounded intense.
Anyway, that’s what I’ve dug up so far on the 2015 Clemson Tigers football schedule. It’s pretty cool to see how their season played out, game by game. And that championship loss to Alabama, even though it’s a bummer for them, just shows how tough the competition is at that level.
