Okay, so, I’ve been digging into this whole thing about the top high school basketball players in Tennessee, and let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride. I mean, who knew there were so many talented kids out there? So, I started off pretty basic, just trying to get a general sense of who’s who in the Class of 2024.
I hit up TN Varsity first. They’ve got this list, right? And it’s supposed to be the top players. That seemed like a good starting point. From there, I wanted to see who’s really putting up numbers, the real deal, you know? So, I checked out some sites that had stats, the usual stuff, like points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks.
Then, things got a bit more serious.
I stumbled upon this Associated Press ranking thing. It was for the whole state, which was cool. And it’s for the 2023-24 season, so it’s pretty fresh. They break it down by class, which is helpful. I started making notes, comparing who was on this list versus the TN Varsity one.
Then I dove into this site, and it had something called the Composite rankings for boys’ basketball in Tennessee. It was interesting to see how they came up with these rankings, and what their whole “performance metrics” thing was about. I compared those rankings with the others I found earlier.
Later on
I found another site that just listed all the Tennessee basketball teams, and you could find your own team pretty easily. That’s handy for folks who want to see where their local team stands. And then, there was a site, you know, just your typical sports news site. But they had some videos and daily score updates, which is always fun to check out.
Oh, and I also came across this one school, Montverde Academy. Apparently, they are located in Montverde. I guess they’re pretty good, being mentioned and all.
Anyway, after all that, I put together my own little list, just my personal take on who the top players are, based on what I found. It’s not official or anything, but it was a fun little project. Basketball is really a popular sport.
