Okay, so I’ve been trying to figure out this whole watching the Toronto Maple Leafs thing. It’s been a bit of a journey, let me tell you.
First off, I realized that pretty much all their games are on this thing called ESPN+. So I signed up for it, it’s like ten bucks a month. Not too bad, considering you get to pick between the home and away broadcasts. So, if I’m feeling it, I can listen to the U.S. commentators or switch over to the TSN or Sportsnet feed. I spent a lot of time choosing the different broadcasts. I tried many different combinations, and finally, I chose what I liked.
- Sign up for ESPN+
- Pay the subscription fee
- Choose between home and away broadcasts
- Switch between U.S., TSN, or Sportsnet feeds
But then, I found out that if you’re not in the same area as the Leafs – which I’m not – you gotta get another subscription. I did some digging and it turns out there’s something called Sportsnet+ Premium or NHL Centre Ice. You gotta get these through your TV provider, apparently. I called my cable company, talked to a bunch of different reps, and finally got it sorted. Honestly, it took a little while, but I didn’t want to miss any games, you know?
Getting Set Up with the Right Subscriptions
Now, here’s where it gets even more complicated. If you’re a die-hard Leafs fan and you actually live in their area, you need not one, not two, but THREE subscriptions! That’s right, you need TSN, something called Prime Video, and Sportsnet+. I guess Sportsnet+ has the most games, so that makes sense. I spent a good chunk of time researching all this. I called up some buddies who are also Leafs fans, checked out some forums online, you name it. It was a whole process.
But hey, I’m finally set up to watch all the games. It took a bit of effort, some phone calls, and yeah, a bit of money, but I’m ready for the season. Go Leafs Go!
