Hey, so you wanna know about parking for Purdue football games, huh? Well, let me tell you, it ain’t always easy, but I’ve got some tips for ya.
Where to Park Your Car
First thing’s first, you gotta figure out where to put that car of yours. Now, they got these fancy maps and all, but who needs ’em? Just listen to ol’ me. That Northwestern Parking Garage, that’s a good spot. It’s free after 5 on weekdays, and all day on weekends. Unless they say otherwise, you know? They say it’s the fastest and most convenient, whatever that means. I just know it’s a good place to park.
Then there’s this University Street Garage. It’s also free on weekends and after 5 on weekdays, so that’s good. But I heard it can get crowded, so you better get there early if you want a spot.
- Northwestern Parking Garage is good.
- University Street Garage is okay, too.
- There’s also a Grant Street Parking Garage near that Union building, for visitors.
If you are a visitor, you can try Grant Street Parking Garage. That’s the one right next to that big building, the Purdue Memorial Union. I guess that’s where all the visitors are supposed to go.
Gettin’ One of Them Parking Passes
Now, they got these things called parking passes. You gotta get one if you don’t wanna get towed. They say you should get ’em beforehand. And get this, they’re all digital now! You gotta put ’em on your phone. Can you believe that? Back in my day, we just had a piece of paper.
Make sure you download that parking pass to your phone before you get there. Don’t be that guy holdin’ up the line tryin’ to figure it out at the last minute.
If you one of them folks with disabilities, they got special parking for ya. But you can only get it on the day of the game. And you gotta have one of them placards or license plates.
Other Stuff You Should Know
When you get there, just follow the signs. They got signs for permit parking and non-permit parking. If you don’t have a permit, you gotta pay. And they got these pay lots over by the IM Goldfields, whatever those are.
You know what, that Purdue football parking can be a real pain. People come from all over, just to see the game. Streets get packed, parking lots get full. You gotta be patient, that’s all I can say.
- Follow the signs for parking.
- Pay lots are by the IM Goldfields.
- Be patient, it’s gonna be crowded.
And don’t be parkin’ where you ain’t supposed to. They’ll tow your car, and then you’ll be in a real pickle. I seen it happen before. Some fella parked in the wrong spot, and bam, his car was gone. Don’t be that fella.
They got these maps, they say. Supposed to show you where to park. I guess you can look at ’em if you want. But just remember what I told ya. Northwestern Garage, University Street Garage, and that Grant Street Garage for visitors. That’s all you really need to know.
If you one of them fancy folks with money, you can pay for a closer spot. They got all these different lots, with different prices. Fifty bucks! Can you believe that? For parking! Back in my day, we parked for free, and we walked. Uphill both ways, in the snow!
They got this thing called the John Purdue Club, just club people got special parking. I don’t know much about that, but it sounds fancy.
Just Remember These Things
Alright, let me sum it up for ya. Purdue football parking can be tricky, but it ain’t rocket science. Get your parking pass on your phone, park in the Northwestern Garage or the University Street Garage if you can, follow the signs, and don’t park like a fool.
- Get your parking pass.
- Northwestern or University Street Garage.
- Don’t park like a fool.
They change all this up every year it seems. Hard to keep track. Last year it was one thing, now its another. Makes my head spin. Just try to get there early, you get better parking that way anyway.
Oh, and don’t forget to wear your Purdue colors! Gotta support the team, right? Boiler up, as they say! Even if you don’t know much about football, just yell and scream like everyone else. It’s all part of the fun.
Alright, I think I’ve said enough. Just be smart, be patient, and have a good time at the game. And if you see an old lady struggling with her phone, trying to figure out that digital parking pass, maybe lend her a hand, will ya?
Go Purdue football games! Have fun out there!
